We arrived at Al Loune as a last minute booking after an excursion trip failed to materialise. And what a wonderful choice it was!
We were greeted with a warm smile by Abdul in the foyer and he led into the exquisite courtyard with its green pool, high ceiling, exquisite balconies and elegant orange trees.
After a refreshing mint tea, and some excellent advice on navigating the Medina with all its labyrinthine alleys and hidden gems of restaurants and cafes, we were shown to the lovely - & comfortable - Red Room on the mezzanine overlooking the courtyard, comprising a large comfortable bed and a private bathroom with deliciously fragrant toiletries!
A superb breakfast of fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, crepes, warm bread with cheese, olives, honey & jam plus perfect little individual omelettes and hot rich coffee was served in the courtyard under the orange trees, fortifying us for a day in the Medina.
Everyone at Al Loune is so friendly and helpful. Abdul & Jouaou are personable, knowledgable and professional - and the Riad itself is an oasis of cool calm beauty, right down to the cosy sitting room tucked under the balcony. The ambience is warm, luxurious & oozes Moroccan class!
Very highly recommended. We would definitely stay again!

Staff (Jawad) was excellent. Breakfast was excellent (Jawad even sent out for some tomato sauce) Bed comfortable nice linen
Showing its age. Carpets thin and frayed. Floor tiles scuffed and faded. Plumbing a bit archaic. Needs a makeover. Owner lives in Italy so maybe not concerned . Overcharged for car to bus station. ($US17 when paid taxi $US3 for similar distance the previous day) Photos not really reflective of true picture.
