Except for the lack of AC in the room, which wasn't a big problem, as with open windows (with mosquito nets), it was very well bearable, but for the rest - top location, amazing nature, very friendly staff, all good.
lack of AC, which on a very hot night might be an issue. Was not one for me.

The location on the lake is indeed beautiful. Also, it is faaaar from any main road, so it is quiet at night.
The one thing a traveler needs to understand is: contrary to the name, Motel Gilau is not a motel! It is a holiday/weekend resort on the lakeside, where the staff leaves in the evening and arrives in the late morning, leaving only a night guard in between. Said night guard will give you the keys if you arrive after 21:00, but paying and leaving early in the morning is quite impossible, as the personnel does not arrive before 9:00.
The standard of the rooms is acceptable, but does not match the advertising photos.
