Residence les Bambous is not a luxury hotel, but a delightful family run guesthouse. It is simple and friendly, and breakfast on the family-shared rooftop terrace was excellent. I felt like I was living with the family, rather than in a cold impersonal hotel. Over two days we felt very welcome. Ritesh and his wife (apologies - I didn't get her name) were always smiling and welcoming and worked extremely hard. We even had a 4am airport pick-up, met by a smiling Ritesh.
My first room was a bit tired but it was fine - perfectly comfortable. My room on my return trip 2 weeks later was newer and the bathroom was better. In retrospect, it was all good.

We loved everything about this place, the location, the hosts, the help with everything. The host Ritesh and his wife were very friendly and welcoming and helped us with sightseeing and advice on eating local places. Ritesh was very reliable with airport transfers and with a guided tour. Delicious generous breakfast and a great feeling of learning about the culture and customs of the place. Best value for money. Thank you very much!

Booked two rooms for 4 adults and 2 children for a muggy night on 29 Dec ‘25. Units were clean, no overly unpleasant odours and furnishings were largely acceptable. However, there are just too many issues to ignore: ceiling fan only working in one unit; both air conditioners not working (not at all in one unit and intermittently in the other); no hot water in either unit, tv not working; bedside lamp not working; no complementary coffee/tea or bottled water. At this price it is admittedly budget accommodation but there is no excuse for this incompetence and/or lack of basic maintenance. We left before the complementary breakfast and definitely won’t be back nor do we recommend it.
