Very central to the town with lots of restaurants around. Seconds from the beach!
The facilities and equipment rental are a little outdated. It would be nice to offer some salt/pepper/oil in the kitchen for cooking, but not necessary of course. Would be nice to offer some bikes for guests as well!

Incredible location in Aoshima between the train station and Aoshima Island (5 minutes walk). The owner was very welcoming, chill and respectful. There is plenty of space for anyone surfing to leave their stuff, as well as a shower right near the entrance to take a wash after going to the beach. The beds are comfy and there is also a kitchen space for anyone wanting to cook. I met some very friendly, welcoming surfers at the hostel who contributed to the lovely vibes. The wifi is also pretty decent.
The bedrooms are connected with very thin walls, but I was lucky to be staying with very respectful guests during my visit. There's also no real common area to relax, which has been replaced instead with a large garage-like area for facilities geared towards those heading to surf.

Near the station.
Soft mattresses.
No other guests that day, so it was quiet, and the entire house was ours.
The owner could have told us more about the facility.
It’s a guest house, so make sure to bring your own toiletries(soap, towel etc).
Our room has no means to lock the door from the inside. Japan is safe, as we all know, but what “if” someone tries to break in while you’re sleeping?
