Delightful

The location was fantastic - and we were provided with all the basics needed.

One of the ACs were not working - this did make it very hard to sleep as it is so hot there

Walking distance to Franschhoek, quiet tranquil cottage in a pear orchard overlooking dam,mountains.

Dam and mountain views. Quiet, clean, and fully equipped cottage. Loved being in the pear orchard :) Close to Franschhoek town. There is a walking trail, which we will do next time. We felt very safe.

The views were lovely but I’d never want to stay here again. There are many fabulous alternatives.

The setting is lovely. And the cottage was spacious for two people.

We stayed on a windy night and the noises were terrifying. It really sounded like 10 men were trying to break in and like there were people walking around and rattling things. Every now and again something went thud and bang. We slept appallingly. Also, there was something wrong with the en suite plumbing. Smells from the sink were noxious.

Останавливались на одну ночь в коттедже Гусь. Когда мы приехали, мы были в диком восторге, это не описать словами. Мы очень сильно пожалели, что слишком мало времени, чтобы насладиться этим местом. Фото не передают той красоты и атмосферы. Очень аутентично, необычно, колоритно. Мы потратили много времени, чтобы все это снять на фото, видео и на дрон. Пейзажи как с картинки, сам дом как из фильма. В доме 2 душа с туалетом, печь-камин, очень уютно было сидеть вечером у камина и пить вино. До остановки трамвая 30 минут пешком. Центр города оживленный, но магазины закрываются в 17.00, рестораны работают допоздна. Если повезет с погодой и будет ясно, то пейзажи будут гораздо лучше, чем в пасмурную и облачную погоду, так как будет видно потрясающие горы. Есть резервный источник питания, сброс нагрузки никак не повлиял на отдых. В холодильнике вода, молоко и за разумные деньги вино.

В доме прохладно, зимой наверное совсем холодно. Мы были 6 ноября. Но есть печь-камин и матрасы с подогревом (впервые такое видели).

Definitely our future choice for a stay in Franschhoek!

We loved the location. On a farm, but walking distance from town. The hosts were friendly, and so were the dogs! The squirrels playing in the trees behind the cottage, the windmill in the distance, the vines and the beautiful mountains that surround the cottage made this a wonderful break away. The best part was the very comfortable couches in front of a burning fire place!

A wonderful, peaceful stay and great location being close to the main road.

The cottage was lovely and clean and very comfortably furnished. We were warmly welcomed by Christelle and arriving on a cold and rainy day what an awesome welcome with a lovely fireplace lit to warm the cottage. The location is very peaceful and was a wonderful relaxing weekend.

A wonderful couple of nights in Franschhoek in July, we will be back to experience summer on the farm.

Beautiful farm, easy access to the town, comfortable living room with warm fire for cold July evenings.

Mooi huis in een prachtige omgeving

Nice house, quiet place, staff is very helpfull. The dogs were so lovely! Good region to hike/mtb. Spacious rooms. But we miss the place, and Zama already!

The house was a little bit cold in this very cold winter. But I think in summer or even autumn/spring, this cottage deserves an overall 10!!

Cozy.

Fireplace and a lovely bed.

Funky smell hung in the kitchen-area. Hostess told us she can’t smell anything. Very cold, more carpets or mats.

Very cozy!

It's just a perfect location with beautiful scenery. The house we stayed in was quite luxurious and we loved the built in fireplace as we were there in winter with lots of rain. Having dogs running around was also nice.

For us, who were planning to braai, the lack of sharp/steak knives was a no no.

The location was great. Just past the monument. A short walk into town. The cottage was very well equipped. It also catered for load shedding with backup power supply.
