Battens Farm is a working organic farm located in the Cotswolds, 2 miles from the village of Castle Combe, recently used to film 'War Horse', and 11 miles from Bath, the roman spa city.

The location was great, being on a farm so close to horses and cows. The cottage was very spacious, plenty of room. The owners were very helpful and although they lived, they did not intrude.
Maybe the bed? A little firm for me, but this is purely minor.

Great location to visit local villages in a peaceful setting. The owners were attentive and always happy to help. So private with beautiful horses to wake up to. Really enjoyed staying here.

Perfect location for us as we were attending a wedding at nearby Grittleton. Comfortable cottage with two bedrooms, nice bathroom and good range of equipment in kitchen etc. nice addition of breakfast food, bread, butter, eggs etc.
Friendly hosts. Lovely to see the horses.
Property is advertised on being on a working farm which we expected however weather was very hot and we were unable to open the windows in the cottage due to horse flies. Couldn’t seem to get air conditioning in living room to work. However, none of this bothered us that much as we were only staying for one night.
Although nothing to do with the property or the hosts the booking.com system does not accurately advise the property as two bedrooms. It’s called ‘one bedroom apartment’ on the booking system which is not correct! Property has two bedrooms, one with a double bed in and a second bedroom with a single bed.
We also did not receive any access instructions from booking.com. We phoned the hosts who were very helpful and sent us clear directions and how to get into the property.

We wanted to experience a farm, so we were happy to be able to see some of the farm animals and chat a little with the family members, who were very friendly. The house was large, clean and comfortable and had two good shower rooms. Ingredients were provided for breakfast, which we cooked ourselves.
There were not a lot of cooking utensils/pots and pans in the kitchen and no kitchen towels for drying dishes or hands. The house had a washing machine, but no detergent and no hairdryer.
Access to two of the bedrooms was through other bedrooms, which was not a problem in our case, but may be for other people. Some of the windows didn't completely close, but as it was a hot summer's day, it was no problem for us.
