Beautiful location. Great patio to capture the winter sunshine all day. Wonderful fireplaces indoors for the cold nights.

The location is exceptional, with views of the very unique red stone hills of the Cango Fault conglomerates. The biodiversity is spectacular, with access to two hiking routes taking you into nature. Amazing birdlife and a serene setting near the river. The indoor fire place is fantastic for cold winter days.
The owner wants to keep the character of the original cottages and this is admirable. Unfortunately, it does mean that there will be dust from the original mud-and-reed ceilings, and smalls gaps under doors and along window sills. Don't expect luxury. Expect basic facilities in a rare and unique Karoo setting.

Location is beautiful and cottage very comfortable.
The owner changed my booking to one bedroom as I (according to her) only booked for two adults & I don’t need a two bedroom cottage. It took some explaining & more that I was visiting with my colleague and was not planning to sleep in the same bed as her! I did not know that I had to explain myself as to why I am paying for two bedrooms.
Booking.com was blamed for the “mistake”, yet I book very often with Booking.com and have been for many years & have never had a problem.
I was told on the evening (we arrived in the dark) that pigeons were making nest in the flat roof. This was directly above the bedroom and even after trying to block my ears, I had no sleep whatsoever! This was the Ostrich cottage.
