We absolutely loved the beds.. So so comfortable. It was like being wrapped in a super down duvet.
The staff were also very helpful.
Also lovely was the fact that a light dinner and tea were included in the price. We've never had that before in a hotel
And the view from the tower is a must
The statue of a dog in reception. And I felt sorry for the staff having to wear that bizarre uniform.

Excellent location, especially if you are spending a few days in Bergen coming off a cruise ship. It is walkable from the cruise port, but with luggage, we opted for a taxi. Extremely close to the lovely Bryggen shops. High ceilings in room made it feel spacious. Thick walls helped deaden hallway sounds. Lovely reception area. Charming old building.
Felt that room was worn and underwhelming for the price that we paid. (Almost $1,000 USD for two nights in a basic room.) The curtains didn't work. The throw pillows on the beds were sad. Bed linens were clean, but not crisp and inviting. Very little counter space in bathroom. Hair that wasn't ours in the shower. Hotel seems to be popular with travel groups. Lot's of people coming in and out. Road construction with jackhammers right outside our room that lasted from 8a to midnight. (Not the hotel's fault, but they could have compensated us somehow.)
