calm, spacious, clean, modern, friendly hotel, family business with personal touch, great staff !!

I stayed several times before at the hotel, i am very satisfied about the clean, big rooms, the friendly staff, the great location; i also use the piano in the lobby/bar to play some, the hotel is very quiet and calm, just what I wanted

Perfect place for a comfortable, quiet and stylish stop on your way to Italy

A stylish old villa, beautifully restored and decorated, the hotel rooms equipped with modern luxury. At walking distance from the city centre with plenty of restaurants to choose from. Super friendly staff, extensive breakfast and the villa is surrounded by a beautiful garden for a relaxing stroll. Highly recommanded for a pleasant stop on the way to Italy, or back.

Good stay next to Basel - We will come again

Nice hotel near to Basel. Very quiet. Clean. Comfortable. Spaceous room. Walking distance from town centre (max 10 minutes)

No dinner possibilities in the hotel (but nearby). trafic speed on through-road is 30 km/h - we were automatically fined...

Superb

Super friendly staff. A really well designed and thought through place. Obviously had a lot of renovation, but cleverly done and nice touches, both practical and in terms of design.

Woken up by intense, and I mean intense drilling at 08:00. Really unpleasant start to the day. The owner seems apologetic yet, unaware even though it could be heard from the reception. hopefully over soon and the results wil be fabulous, but it was not a great start to the day.

Lovely hotel in a cozy area

Very lovely hotel in a cozy area. It was a family hotel and they were indeed very friendly and supportive. The interior design is very beautiful.

We liked everything, except the pillows 😉

Everything is perfect in the real sense. Never heen to such a spotless hotel. Super clean and good breakfast. Excellent staff.

A coffe making facility in the room would make a 5 star plus.

We enjoyed pur stay even if it was too short.

It was very quiet and the gardens and the view werevery nice

The room was very fastefull but it could perhaps habe bern a little bigger. On the other hand the hall was very impressive as were the drawing-roomsWe enjoue

Amazing breakfast Wonderful quiet location with trees and a garden around Gorgeous property with historic character Room was overall great, very clean & we loved the balcony

Pillows were too soft - but this is just a personal preference. We will 100% stay there again!

Great for a stopover or short stay

I booked this as a stopover on a long drive home, and it met all my requirements - easy to reach from the motorway, good value, very comfortable rooms, restaurants within walking distance, and free parking. And very dog friendly! But I would like to return for a longer stay - it’s just over the border from Basel and NW Switzerland (without the silly Swiss prices), on the edge of the Black Forest, and very near French Alsace. The hotel itself is a large comfortable chalet-style building in art nouveau style. The rooms and bed were very comfortable, the staff welcoming and multi-lingual, and provided a good breakfast. Five minutes walk from the hotel down the hill there was a brewery restaurant that offered hearty fare, also dog friendly.

hideaway 5 minutes from the city

Surrounded by old trees located on a hillslope above the city with a magnificent view (even to Basel, Switzerland) this really can be called a villa. It takes only 5 to 7 minutes to the pedestrian area in the heart of the city with restaurants, shops and everything.
