Castle Inn

What a wonderful little find. My wife and I recently travelled to the Kent coast to celebrate our anniversary. We decided to stay at the Castle Inn in Saltwood on the outskirts of Hythe. Jackie(owner) has taken on the Castle Inn (almost 1 yr) and is in the process of rejuvenating it. There is a lovely feel to the Castle from the moment we arrived we were greeted and welcomed and felt very at home for the duration of our stay. The Room was very spacious very confortable. The beer garden was wonderful and well laid out with plenty of shaded and unshaded seating available. The food was lovely and there was plenty of it. (Breakfast will set anyone up for the day). We also got to meet Jackies helpers( pet dogs Dolly, Tina Turner & Charlie) all adding to our wonderful stay.

There was nothing that we didnt like and understand that Jackie will add more of her personality to the Castle in the future.

Jackie was absolutely amazing , Jackie made us feel so at home and went above and beyond to make ys feel so much at home, even dropped us off in town centre ,above and beyond, absolutely amazing hostess, we are definitely going back and can't wait to go back.

Staff were lovely, very helpful room was clean, bed was comfortable. Lovely area. Bar was nice.

The way the room was laid out to be honest, it could have been better. Television was in an awkward position. The tea making facility was also awkward,as the only socket for the kettle was on floor at the end of the bed. There were lamps but no socket to plug them in and no bulbs in them either. There was constant banging which was the water pipes? Also we didn’t notice till the morning, we didn’t have any towels ?Hence, we couldn’t shower or wash. We were checking out early, so there was no staff about to request them. Luckily we were going straight home. We were also advised on arrival, breakfast would not be available which was disappointing.
