Excellent location. This is a beautiful hotel, which was previously a convent. The female receptionist that I met on the fourth day was lovely. Always happy and friendly and made an effort to smile and offer advice on things to do and see around town.
This historic hotel (a beautifully restored convent) has lots of charm and character. My room was spacious and well located, but it lacked some of the ambience shown in the photos, and overall the stay didn’t feel as special as I expected for the high price. Most of the male reception staff I met were polite but not naturally welcoming or friendly, which as a solo traveller left me feeling anxious. On the third day I met a female receptionist who was warm, kind and happy, and she really made a difference to how I felt - thank you 🙏
I originally tried to book directly with the hotel, but their website didn’t load in English on my iPhone (it may have worked better on a desktop). For peace of mind I kept my Booking.com reservation, but I couldn’t help feeling that by not booking directly with the hotel, it may have influenced the room I was given and the experience. Overall, the hotel is historic and beautiful, but some of the service during my stay made me feel like I was a bit of an inconvenience.
