Quaint and interesting history. Staff in bar and restaurant were great. Roast was spot on.
Welcome from reception staff was poor didn’t feel welcome. Menu was changing but missing many basic must haves like steak or fish and chips. Breakfast had uncooked bacon two days in a row and no sausages day 1. I offered to pay for a room upgrade for the next night to a better empty room, but was told it’s too hard. Was then lied to about the price difference being £50 when it was actually £11 (checked on line) just made the whole experience bad and definitely unrepeatable.
