Unfussy family-run hotel in amazing scenery right in the heart of the National Park. Clean and comfortable accommodation and, when the restaurant is open, excellent home-cooked food. Fantastic hiking to be had along the Chemins des Bergers waymarked trail, accessible virtually from
the doorstep.
I was travelling Corsica by train, and the hotel is a 1-hour (very uphill) walk from either of the two nearby stations. There are no buses or taxis.
It came as a shock, after several hours hiking in the mountains, to return to the hotel hungry and tired, and discover there is no restaurant service at all on Sunday. I was given no warning of this, and it does not seem to be mentioned in any of the hotel's publicity. The nearest place open for food was a café/bar with a basic menu, in the neighbouring village, a further 20 minute (downhill) walk away.
