Pleasant apartment in Valcarlos

Nice overall, clean and very good condition. Staff was super nice and super helpful. There is a bar/restaurant/supermarket where you can get dinner and provisions for breakfast not too far away.

We liked overall. It was a little confusing- there are 2 different buildings and they are not right next to each other (granted Valcarlos is not large). If you are in Casa Ferran, google maps for Montana Mendiola Apartamentos will get you there. If you are in Casa Karrikaburu, google maps for “Casa Karrikaburu “ will get you there.

No había agua caliente y no me pude duchar. No funcionó la calefacción por la mañana y pasamos frío a primera hora. La ducha perdía agua cuando intenté encenderla.

Spacious, quiet apartment at the far end of the village.

Lovely roomy apartment, great views across the valley. Lift up to 3rd floor. Very quiet, a few snacks and drinks available for purchase in the fridge.

Beds were quite uncomfortable, as were the lounge chairs. We would have loved just a few tea bags, some cooking basics (salt, pepper) as the apartment has a kitchen but when you are walking the Camino you don't want to buy salt, tea bags and carry them every day. Not a big problem but those small details are so helpful.

Lovely little apartment!

Fabulous property in Valcarlos! Situated at the end of the town, but within a short distance from the end of the Camino leg. Very efficient check-in, lots of information given & some condiments in the fridge to purchase, if desired! Loved the honesty aspect of it all….. If heading to Valcarlos, then deffo look up this place, you will not be disappointed.

A welcome rest in a friendly village

Had everything we needed, comfortable, good view up into the Pyrenees, friendly and helpful host.

It’s right on the main road but fortunately there wasn’t much traffic.

Break the first day up

Great view and great night's sleep.. We were two hours early and Lucrezia happened to be there while we were walking past and checked us in which was lovely

adorable apartment

the owner was super accommodating and helpful. She checked us in on time and assisted us in alternate travel plans

the only negative thing was that the towel warmer did not work and had a bit of trouble with the wifi after check in. but the wifi was fixed quickly!

Disappointing

Good location, we had a small balcony with a nice viee.

The address was not for the building we were staying in and it was difficult to get in touch with staff and find tge place. The building was still under construction and the room was barely furnished and lacked amenities. The only heat was from a small noisy space heater.

Everything else was good, but the most uncomfortable thing was that the sound of the heater was so loud that I couldn't sleep well. When I went outside and listened to the sound, it seemed like it was only the room I stayed in.

A Perfect Mountain Retreat

An exceptional alternative to the municipal albergue. A beautiful place in a good quiet spot.

A handy stop in Valcarlos

We spent one night in this lovely apartment with a great view, . The beds were comfortable and the facilities were all good. We were able to wash some clothes and get them dried, which was useful. The host met us to give us the keys and explain the workings of the place.

Very convenient location for an overnight stop while doing the Camino.

There is a third bed in the bedroom which makes the room seem a little over-crowded. There is a nice little patio at the back but it was difficult to access easily past the bed.

Spacious apartment

Very spacious apartment. Clean, comfortable with a nice courtyard area to sit out. The host went above and beyond giving us extra useful information about walking to Roncesvalles the next day in the sweltering heat.

Superb

This was a perfect stopping point for our first day on the Camino. It was very comfortable and the owner was helpful and really friendly, making us feel right at home. The kitchen is well-stocked to make a meal if the restaurants in Valcarlos aren't (yet) open when you need to refuel

Excellent choice for Valcarlos

The service is friendly and efficient. The apartments are lovely and well furnished. Everything has been provided. A beautiful location and a great village. Perfect place to stay on the Camino or just for a visit to this lovely area.

Highly recommended

Well equipped 1 bedroom apartment with everything you could need including wine in the fridge. Key in lock and name on a little plaque hanging outside of the door. Road immediately out front but then view across to the hills. Proprietor came by later and was very helpful.

The wifi was a little temperamental. Good in the afternoon but froze a few times during the evening and next morning.
