The chalet was located to the rear of the hotel which was close to Kandersteg station, the local bus routes and one of the mountain Gondolas. The view of the mountains from the veranda was super. The chalet was well equipped to facilitate self-catering (a sieve / strainer would be useful). There were plenty of towels, cleaning cloths and dishwasher tablets for our 9 night stay (Thank you).
The area to the back of the chalet was quite noisy - a generator (or similar) worked on and off for most of each night which was a little disturbing for a light sleeper. Some condiments (salt and pepper) would be a very useful addition to the kitchen area.

Lovely location
Attention to detail missing. Asked for replacement bath mat on day 3. Never came. Patio outside apartment had lots of weeds.

Great location.
There was some confusion around the number of guest. We booked 2 rooms for 2 couples. There was an email showing each. The rooms had a double bed but we were advised that we had only booked for one person per room and were required to pay an additional CHF 100 (including breakfast) per person per night. A look at the differences in cost of one or two persons per room on the Booking.com website reflects that we were very heavily penalised. As it was a busy time of year and we were unlikely to obtain other accommodation at short notice we were forced to pay this additional costs. On arrival home, I sent a copy of the email showing the confirmation of 2 persons per room and a total of 4 person. My emails have been ignored. BEWARE - ensure that number of people per room is correct or you will be charged a highly inflated rate for the second person in the room. As advised by a local Grindelwald resident - tourists in Grindelwald are cannon fodder
