First off, the hotel staff were so helpful, friendly going out of their way to make sure our group was happy and comfortable throughout our stay. Service was absolutely spectacular. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast with our hot coffee every morning. You couldn't have asked for anything more. Great location walkable to city center and various landmarks and shopping spots. I would definitely stay at Hotel Boutique Casa Catrina when I get a chance to visit the beautiful Oaxaca again. Such a lovely stay.

This hotel is a true gem in so many ways. The location is perfect – right in the historic centre and in exactly the right spot to enjoy the buzz and atmosphere of Oaxaca without the noise.
Breakfast was excellent, prepared and served with a personal touch, with a rich and diverse à la carte menu. Our room was spacious, comfortable and elegantly designed, with the bathroom being a real wow!
We had a room with a terrace, which we strongly recommend. It was large and lush, with a great view – perfect for enjoying breakfast or simply relaxing in the evening.
Everyone was genuinely helpful, offering good advice and assistance with practicalities such as booking taxis. Oaxaca is an amazing city in so many ways, and this hotel manages to channel the city's spirit and atmosphere in the most delightful way.
Very good value for money and a place we would happily recommend.
Very little to criticise. Our experience was excellent throughout, and there was nothing of significance that we felt needed improvement.

This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at. I stayed in the red room. It was ample, with a big, comfortable bed, a sitting area, and a huge bathroom with natural skylights. The shower was amazing. There was a big terrace, from which I watched the parade announcing the 2026 Guelaguetza--amazing. The building is very nice. The hotel is located on the north end of the city center. It is a lively neighborhood, but with less foot traffic than places closer to the center. I appreciated that. It is also close to other neighborhoods with beautiful art and nice restaurants. It was convenient to walk to the Guelaguetza auditorium, too.
The staff at the hotel were very nice and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious and filling. I had bread, fruit, coffee, and Oaxaca-style eggs most days (one day I got eggs with black mole sauce). Amazing.
I would love to stay in this hotel again. I recommend it highly.

Location was great, staff very good
Room had no windows other than one that opened to a courtyard which was used for breakfast and guest hangout area. So the window shutters had to be kept closed which made it oppressive.
