Location was convenient.
After living in Asia for 25 years and using Bookings.com exclusively for Asian travel in the last 5 years, it’s easy to see when the high ratings do not reflect the actual customers experience. The staff had no interest in hospitality or customer service mostly sitting around in the lobby on their phones not even acknowledging guests. This property was under renovation, so we switched rooms from the pool double room to the villa which was ok. The inflexible attitude of the owner and argumentative front desk staff was definitely not represented in previous customer reviews on bookings.com and something I have not experienced previously from a properly with such high reviews.
