Unfortunately disappointing
Right next to the park entrance. Can organise safari.
Very overpriced for what it is. AC in 1st room didn’t work, food is double of what you would pay elsewhere and wasn’t warm nor very good. Manager not particularly accommodating.

Everything about our stay was wonderful--the food, the friendly staff, the beautiful surroundings.
The food was excellent (we ate Sri Lankan food) and the view from our room was beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
It would have been useful to have wifi that reached our room but it didn't impact our enjoyment.

Wilpattu tree house and safari.
We rented three of the triple rooms in the two wooden tree houses at the west, sunset side of the property. There may be another tree house room (?) but no guest was in it. Two of the triple rooms had mezzanine beds that would be best for children and the more agile. Other rooms and another tree house are available in the main houses but we mainly had the place to ourselves. The treehouse with rooms 3 and 4 has clear views of open land to the west, good for watching eg peacocks and other birds and some wild pigs. The treehouse rooms are spacious with balcony sitting areas, large comfortable beds, clean linen, good bathroom and shower facilities, efficient AC and fans, mosquito nets, kettle and tea/coffee and a fridge. A very peaceful spot in the country surrounded by bird calls, no road noise. Some nights were pleasantly cool enough to sleep without AC or fan. Mosquitos were only a minor annoyance. The staff were friendly attentive and welcoming. We had all our meals onsite. The food was very good plentiful traditional Sri Lankan plus options for western style individual meals and breakfast. Two of our party were vegetarian and they felt well catered for. We checked in advance to make sure beer and wine was available. This hotel is directly adjacent to the Horuvila entrance to the National Park so you can be in the park within a few minutes of opening time to catch the early views of the wildlife. We saw an elephant, crocodiles, buffalo, deer, monkeys, monitor, turtle and many bird species including eagles, hornbills and pelicans. This was a 4-5 hour jeep safari organised for us by the staff, which cost 14480 rupees for jeep and driver for the 5 of us. We paid for the National park tickets ( $30 US cash or equivalent in rupee per adult but other currencies eg GBP, EUR probably acceptable) at the park entrance. I don't think credit cards are accepted at the entrance ? With enough notice you may be able to get tickets sorted the previous day perhaps.
We checked ahead that we could pay the final bill by card but on the day the card machine didn't work with any card and we didn't have quite enough cash between us using all currencies. So Sanjeeva came one way to the nearest town with us on the way out and we managed to get enough rupee cash from ATMs to clear the bill. A bit frustrating and time consuming. Probably worth making sure you have enough spare hard cash to cover this kind of situation anywhere.

a very memorable one especially as we saw a leopard among many other wonderful sights in the reserve
The staff were friendly and helpful. The safaris were booked and we were provided with a good packed breakfast for the morning safari. The buffet dinner was good.We stayed in a tree house style accommodation which suited the purpose of the visit. The surrounding areas were scenic.
During the power cut period the generator supply was intermittent

Wonderful views, good food and great strategic location
The owner of the place and also other staff were very nice to us. Food was delicious. Tree house is beautiful place to stay with incredible views. Just good to have in mind that it is made from wood boards so you will hear everything very closely. I appreciate the location that is just next door to Wilpattu NP.

Poor
Location adjacent to Wilapattu National Park entrance.
Yucky food. Food had to be ordered many hours in advance and everytime we were provided only 2 choices of food, that too only verbally , and each choice used to be worse than the other. We found hair in our food in every meal that we took. Callous attitude of the manager. My Airtel was not working. No wifi provided inspite of repeated reminders and false assurances of " give 5 minutes sir " . 5 minutes were stretched to 3 days ( & 2 nights) as manager was waiting for us to complete our stay and vanish. The walls were cracked...with huge crack running across one full wall of the washroom, making us suspect the safety of the concrete structure. The designation " Tree house rooms " is misleading . There are 3 structures . Main concrete structure houses the office, restaurant, kitchen office etc. Remaining 2 structures are on concrete pillars and each has 2 rooms ( lower and upper tree house) accesible theough iron staircases. No tree. Just the houses .
