We had a fantastic stay at Wilpattu Treehouse and really enjoyed our time here. The setting is wonderful, the staff were welcoming and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. It was also a great base for our Wilpattu safari. We were very well looked after throughout our stay and, aside from the issue with meal pricing, we would have come away feeling extremely positive about the whole experience.
Our only disappointment was the lack of transparency around food and drink prices. No menus or price lists were provided, and drinks and desserts were offered with each meal without any indication that they were additional charges. We were therefore surprised at checkout to find, for example, soft drinks charged at USD $4 and fruit salad with ice cream at USD $5.50, plus a 10% service charge.
The food and service were excellent, but we would have made different choices had the prices been clear. Providing guests with a menu would easily resolve this and would have avoided a disappointing end to an otherwise fantastic stay.

Loved our stay at the Wilpattu Tree House. We had a fabulous tree house overlooking a paddy field, which was so comfortable and a great shower. Loved going to sleep to the sound of the wind in the trees. Everyone was so helpful and friendly and the food was tasty and plentiful. With only a 2 minute drive to the entrance to the national park, the team arranged a great safari for us and we were so lucky to see the Sri Lanka big 5. A definite highlight of our trip.
