The location of this apartment was great, right on the harbour amongst all the restaurants. Check in was easy as we paid Niko to collect us from the airport, he’s very nice. The terraces are pretty and private for the guests from the 2 apartments.
Unfortunately there were a few things that we weren’t too happy with. Firstly, the air-con wasn’t powerful enough to cool the apartment down, and although the weather was particularly warm, the apartment was absolutely roasting hot, the bathroom seemed to have underfloor heating on and just couldn’t cool it down at all. We asked if we could borrow a fan but were told they didn’t have one. We were told to keep the shutters shut to keep the sun out, but when you book an apartment based on the views over the harbour, it was quite disappointing to sit in darkness in order to try to keep the rooms cool. Secondly, the beds weren’t comfortable at all. The sofa bed was very lumpy. When we arrived the beds only had a base sheet on and no other bedding. We had to search around for a sheet to cover us at night. There also seemed to be an issue with insulation dividing the apartment from the one above because we heard every single conversation the guests above had, and heard every footstep they made. This woke us up several times. We had booked for 8 nights but only had 2 towels each so had to wash them ourselves, the same with the bed sheets. We had to hunt around for more. After 5 days of crippling back pain from the beds, we felt we had no choice really but to leave the apartment and pay €900 for 3 nights in a local hotel. We tried to ask for the last 3 nights to be cancelled but we were ignored. Booking.com were also ignored. We wouldn’t book this apartment again, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone that needs a comfortable bed in order to sleep. It saddened us to have to move to a hotel but didn’t want the whole of our holiday to be spoiled by no sleep and uncomfortable accommodation.
