Cheap and serviceable, don’t expect any frills

The property was small but reasonably equipped. We sat outside on the deck for dinner. As gîtes go, this was cheap.

The gîte had clean bedding, but no towels, tea towels, or soap in the bathroom. No shower cubicle, just a curtain so the bathroom floor got wet (not a big deal, as there was a mop). Lumpy pillows. Our biggest problem was actually that there was nowhere to eat (dinner or breakfast) in the village. We would have had to walk 4 miles to find food. This is obviously not the gîte’s fault, but if you don’t have a car, make sure you’re carrying some food! 😋😕
