Angry host and disgusting bed linen!

Oven, fridge, washing machine, TV. The lounge looked like it had been updated, compared to the kitchen and bedrooms. Large balcony.

After being dropped off in a taxi at the apartment location, it was not clear where the apartment was. The host would answer his phone angrily and then put the phone down when asked the location of the apartment. This happened numerous times. He also wouldn't respond to text messages asking him where the apartment was. As the apartment is in the middle of nowhere, it was a scary experience travelling alone with a small child, not knowing where the accommodation was and receiving zero communication from the host. The bedding looked like it was from the 1920's. I would recommend throwing it all away and investing in new bed linen and blankets. The towels looked around 40 years old.

Disappointing

owner was reachable on phone at all times and whenever I raised concerns about different things like hot water unavailable (due to an issue with the battery that he had to replace) Good reception room and balcony with some very good views.

For the amount spent, I expected much better. - had to wait ~20 minutes outside the building to get the keys - You could hear the neighbours throughout the night - hot water didnt work and I was on whatsapp with the owner for ~40 mins trying to show/fix - It was too hot on night 1 and if I opened the windows it was too noisy for anyone to sleep. We were all up at ~2 am and struggling to sleep. The last two items were fixed by the owner the next morning, Also provided a fan, which helped drown down the neighbour noise overnight

Big place close to the city center

Ja Nice view.A lot of space, big terace, private parking, big kitchen,fully equipped, big market across the street, close to the center only 1.7km on foot but it is pretty steep. Comfortable beds. We liked two bathrooms, we were four.

Just one pair of keys, so we all have to coordinate our exits from the flat when we did not want to go out and come back together.

The host was late for the check-in and he also did not speak any English.

Nice terrace with a view, spacious comfortable apartament with all you may need (all devices working) Location - good access to most parts of the island, well equipped supermarket within 200m Secure parking in garage

Towels should already be replaced in my view

Very good location, clean and nice apartment even for small families. The parking is very easy and pratical. Very good price for what it is.

I have received a booking confirmation with all the information about the booking and the only phone number I found on the page was a phone number from Angola and not Portuguese. I arrived 2 hours earlier, so I call the number to know if I could already access to the private parking before the checking time. It was a 2 minutes call, and It cost me 7 euros. I had to call later because the person who give us the keys was not there at 2 pm, it cost me 3 euros. It is unprofessional to put this number without telling us it is not Portuguese (I didn't know it because I don't know the prefix of Portugal). The person told me that there were two numbers on the booking reservation, but it is not true. There is only one on my booking information page. It is sad to follow the instruction on the booking site and pay 10 euros for the phone call.

We were in a very bad situation when we arrived. The specified phone number, registered in Angola, did not answer for 3 hours. We were forced to contact Booking to find this person and finally we were forced to quickly choose another offer. Calls with Booking cost us an additional 100 EUR. Only after 3 hours did the displayed phone finally answer

Lack of communication&false listed facilities. Owner not willing to provide facilities sold in ad.

The location was good for me as it was close to my family, so easy to spend time with them while on holidays in the island. However, the whole experience was stressful from start due to the lack of communication and not only for the false listed facilities but the way the onwer dealt with it - not telling us in advance, delays in the response, not providing a solution until he was contacted by Booking. com

Lack of communication and facilities listed in the ad were not true. Had to call Booking.com during the holidays to make a complaint and receive a refund as owner was not willing to provide me with a solution before my complaint to Booming.com. 1st, asked a quote to rent a car as they claimed to offer car rental services - I was told by the owner/manager he was going to analyse my request, but I'd never got an answer (the 1st bad impression); 2nd, the day before my arrival, I texted the owner saying I'll be landing at the airport at 11am and arriving at the flat at 4/5pm because I had things to sort out before going to the flat. He confirmed 4pm was ok. At 2pm the next day, I called the person responsible to give me the key (Sir Agostinho) to ask if he was available to give me the key before 4pm, Sir Agostinho started to complain to me, claiming I was very late because I said to the owner I was going to be at the flat at 10am and he waited for me until 12am (how is this possible as I was landing at 11am and the owner knew about it??). When he gave me the key he said the owner confirmed I never texted him. Total miscommunication!! I showed Sir Agostinho the messages so he could confirm I actually exchanged texts with the owner and we agreed to 4pm. As a client, I shouldn't be in this embarrassing situation and never got an apologies from the owner; 3rd, the oven was listed in the facilities and could be seen in the pictures of the ad, but it was not working and no one ever told us. A fully equipped kitchen was key for me during this holiday. Sir Agostinho even showed me the cooker was working, but never mentioned the oven was not working even though he knew about it. This shows dishonesty. I had all dinner ready to go to the oven when I found out the oven was not working and had to improvise dinner last minute.
