As a native to Ghent who now lives abroad, I wanted to show my city to some of my British friends. As soon as I saw the listing for Hof Van Spanje, I knew I had found a gem. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring the historic centre of the city. You also have a huge choice of cafes and restaurants on your doorstep.
The apartment itself is beautiful. Full of character, comfortable and spacious with a well equipped kitchen, there even were some spices available if you wanted to cook your own meals.
The bedrooms were equally spacious. They are street facing, which made us a little worried about noise from the street, but that wasn’t an issue at all.
I can’t really think of anything that we didn’t like about the flat. Possibly the stairs up to the flat. They are fairly steep & are a little precarious. If you struggle with stairs, you might not want to stay there.

It was spacious, excellently equipped and brilliantly located. It is such an enjoyable space that we only ate out once, the terrace is great also

Great location friendly host and beautiful property
I wasn't made aware it was on the third floor with no lift - not the host's fault
Very big step up to the balcony and slightly lose rail.
