The location and the staff were v v good.
The bed comfort was not good. Very poor lighting.
Most of all, there was a noise throughout the night of a grinding machine or running water, hard to tell what it was. The room has a musty smell because it cannot be aired and the carpet is well worn out in parts.
Definitely not the nice cozy room one sees in the pictures. Those glowing reviews I read on booking. Com are so not true

Only thing would be more shelf space in the bathrooms.

The scent; some reviews made my partner paranoid about pongs, which made me have to argue this places case. The smells were non-existent; the place is historical and very interesting/quirky.

Central location and comfortable room
Very unfriendly staff , attitude was very much off putting as if we were bothering them. Staff were lounging on the sofa or reading books rather than manning reception. Very much felt like they couldn’t care less about us. Breakfast buffet very poor as not replenished so when we came down approx 8:30 very little choice.
