Amazing views, friendly staff, comfy bed, very kind team in the restaurant and bar in particular. Lovely and clean. We’d come back for sure!
Quite hard used in places - not as “luxe” as the photos make you think it might be but very clean. Breakfast was ok but not amazing - cakes etc looked lovely but the non-dairy/healthy options more limited.

Not everything was working in the SPA which doesn’t make sense. Parking is paid and there are no free options outside as it’s on mid of the nature. No free hygiene kits and no free tea/coffee or even water in the bedroom, which are common compliments among hotels of this category

Location was absolutely amazing, breathtaking scenery, all rooms faced the mountains, they were very large and spacious, comfy beds and great showers. A fabulous location if you love walking, bird watching or just to chill out and enjoy the fabulous views.
Breakfast was good and also enjoyed a nice evening meal. Staff all pleasant and friendly.

We had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time at this hotel. The location is fantastic, surrounded by nature and perfect for long, relaxing walks. The accommodations were comfortable, well-maintained, and provided everything we needed for a pleasant stay. What truly stood out was the staff, who were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Their kindness made our experience even more enjoyable. We would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a beautiful natural setting.
Unfortunately, my experience at the restaurant, Foral de Melgaço, was disappointing. While the staff were polite and courteous, the quality of the food was far below the standard I would expect from a hotel of this category.
I ordered the Sugestão do Chefe and a fish dish served with shrimp rice. The experience was extremely poor. The rice was undercooked, and when I asked for the issue to be corrected, the replacement was even worse. As a result, I was unable to eat the main course.
What I found particularly surprising was that, despite the obvious problem, no one from the restaurant or hotel management approached me to discuss the situation or acknowledge the issue. A simple conversation or apology would have gone a long way.
The hotel itself is very nice and I would recommend it for its location, accommodations, and friendly staff. However, I would strongly suggest dining elsewhere. Melgaço offers several excellent restaurants within a 1 km radius that provide a much better culinary experience.
