Lovely stay

It was our second time staying in the hotel. We came back again to celebrate birthday. Receptionist was helpful in getting our room ready when we arrived earlier than check in time. Hotel was clean and after recent modernisation. We have received nice surprise from the hotel management in form of Birthday card and a drink token which was unexpected and really nice gesture. Breakfast was extensive from cereals to cooked meal. The only small minus that the chafing dish didn't keep the cooked food warm- however there is an option to order from the b. menu. Live music in the bar and really friendly staff there. Lovely hotel for family stay. Amenities such as pool, playroom for kids. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

This hotel is obviously geared up for tourist coaches given that it's in Killarney. Its on the edge of town. Staff were very friendly. Food was good.

Be prepared to queue up for ages to get a hot breakfast !

Grwat location, 20 minute walk from the town centre, and on the edge of the beautiful Killarney National Park. Very comfortable bed, spacious room, friendly staff.

Great hotel for kids of all ages!

Fantastic hotel for families with plenty to do for kids of all ages.

Couple of arcade machines broken ie. Accepted money but not working! Also our room was down back of hotel which was a long walk. Would be helpful to access rooms through doors nearer those rooms.

It was great.

The staff was kind and helpful. I arrived at 13:0/0 and although the check-in time was 16:00 the reception facilitated me with an early check-in. That was really helpful, thank you! The room was clean and spacious. I really enjoyed the swimming pool. A big thank you to the chef for the amazing dishes and waffles at the breakfast. The live music on Friday evening was great. I really enjoyed my stay and it deffo worth the money.

I checked out on the second day of my stay and left my luggage in the reception. When I came back in the evening I asked if I can dine in before leaving and they said no because you are not our guest anymore. That was the first time I encountered such a situation. My friend was still staying in the hotel and I wanted to have dinner with her, so I asked again "can I have dinner with my friend, in this case, I will not occupy a separate table and she said no!". There was another lady at the reception and finally, she said that's fine. I believe I should not have gone through that conversion just for dining in!!! Other than this, everything was super and I would recommend hotel Killarney to my friends and relatives.

This is a low budget family hotel - NOT for anyone else.

The lift was fast. They had coeliac options for breakfast. It wasn't very good, but they had options. Location - only 20 min walk from town.

Kids running everywhere uncontrolled - all the time, even late at night. Hotel everywhere smelt like cheap cleaning solution. The food quality is very poor - greasy, very greasy. The staff are quite abrupt and never smile. Some lipstick found on breakfast morning glasses (not the most hygienic)

Hotel Kilarney was brilliant, the perfect hotel if you have children 😀

Everything was perfect, breakfast and dinner was lovely and the kids had so much to do.

An hour later for checkout maybe 12 instead of 11.

Nice Hotel, Comfortable , Restaurant Staff Shockingly rude

Receptionist was very nice and welcoming, there was a slight issue with our booking whi h she sorted immediately. The SPA was nice and staff were very accommodating. Bed was very comfortable in the room.

Restaurant staff were shocking. We arrived in the restaurant at 8.15pm as we had been off climbing Carrantuohill. They restaurant last orders was 8.45pm.The staff came over and asked us were we ready to order, 3 times in less than 2 minutes after we explained 3 times that we were waiting on another person and they would be with us in the next couple of minutes. When we ordered we were asked would we like both starter and main courses together, we said no, the starter came out and we noticed the main had been brought out and left a table in a corner, when we asked the young girl waitress was that our main on the table in the corner she just smiled and said " emm maybe" they then tried to bring it into the kitchen without us noticing. We'll just have it now we said instead of bringing it into the kitchen to be put under a heated lamp for 10 minutes . The minute we finished our meal an elderly lady staff member comes over and doesn't ask was everything alright, but asks very rudely "have you paid your bill" . The 3 of us were looking at each other shocked. The bar staff were alright. we got up early the next morning for breakfast and again met a female staff member in the restaurant who was extremely rude, with a serious lack of manners. We noticed one staff member making breakfast bags and putting food in the them with her fingers rather than the thongs provided. I am returning to kerry next month and I 100% will NOT be staying in Hotel Killarney.

people in the room next door to us were very loud and it made it sound even louder as our room had a door that joined into their room which was locked but made their noise come through more
