We spent a short week in the Shawnee National Forest, all six of us! All three of our grandsons had a great time swimming, fishing and hiking. Grandma and Grandpa not only enjoyed the activities but our grandsons too. Life is so busy now-a-days that spending a nice relaxed time with our family was a real bonus. I would highly recommend you spend some family time in this lovely cabin in the Shawnee National Forest.

This cabin was exactly what we expected. It was so nice and clean. We were personally met at our cabin for check-in. It had everything listed/available for our stay. So clise to all the parks and great hiking locations. We’ll definitely be back!!

Janice, the property manager, is one of the sweetest ladies around. She made our stay seamless and stress-free. The amenities and lodgings were both great, clean, and there was nothing to complain about. They even provided a good quality fire wood for fire pits so we didn't have to go out in town to buy it.

Beautiful two level cabin on a picturesque lake with a walkout on the lower level. Cabin had everything you needed for a short stay. Because we were in the area for a wedding we didn’t have time to make use of the gas grill or fire pit. Next trip we hope to have more time to enjoy the lovely setting.

We came down to move our daughter into SIU. The property is nice and close to campus and a beautiful place to stay. It was a perfect place to have fun swimming and relax as we sent her back to school. Beautiful views and plenty of room for all of us to spread out.

This property is beautiful. We were very happy with the cabin. The kitchen was so nice, complete with spices, lots of pans & plenty of dishes/glasses. The gas grill was clean & newer. Everything in the kitchen was spic & span. The bathrooms were super clean & the shower had nice pressure. Lots of towels & a hairdryer too. Both living areas were comfortable & very cozy. The sunsets from the back deck were beautiful. While we didn’t use the fire pit, it was a great area. (And firewood was provided.) A couple things that we were a little disappointed with were the pillows & check in process. The pillows were kind of flat & could stand to be replaced. We left the STL area as soon as we got off work & had told the employee our ETA was 6:15. Originally we were going to be later but adjusted it to get there sooner. We did this because when we’d called earlier to confirm some details, she was less then happy we were arriving past 3-4:00 in the evening. We called her about 1/2 hour out of Carbondale & told her we were still running on time. She called us at 6:00 to see if we were going to be there anytime soon. We were by the university & arrived at 6:05, 10 minutes earlier than our original ETA. It was apparent she wasn’t happy she had to wait for us. I feel like we couldn’t be the only people that arrived after 3:00. In spite of our greeting, we’ll be back. It’s a great place to get away to rejuvenate & relax.

The cabin and surroundings were beautiful. True to the photos, very comfortable and lots of room for everyone. We really enjoyed swimming in the pond and handing out on the deck. We loved how close it was to the SIU campus. I only reason that I gave it a 4 was because of the check-in procedure, which really needs to be updated.

Great place to stay if you are doing the Southern Ill wine trail. A great place to eat is The Flame bar and grill in Carbondale! Excellent steaks!!!! So close to the wine trail!

Great weekend trip with the family. Cute little treasure hunt for a dollar inside the cabin. We found it and rehid for the next guests. Cabin was clean. Check in process is a little old fashioned.

We had a wonderful time in our cabin, which was beautiful, clean, and had all the amenities we were looking for. We loved canoeing, hanging on the deck, and swimming in the pond. It will be our go-to spot to stay from now on when visiting our family.

Amazing location, right near all the places we wanted to go. Found out we enjoyed staying right at the cabin instead of going to our favorite swimming holes! Can't wait to book again.

We spent a relaxing weekend here at one of the cabins. It was very cozy and comfortable. I was very pleased to find some cooking basics such as salt and pepper and spices. That is not what you usually find in rentals. There was even banana bread in the freezer for us. Janet came to check us in and she was so warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

We were visiting my son who attends SIUC for a little "forced family fun" - this was a perfect location for him to easily access and for us to quickly get to hiking and wineries . We were greeted by a warm cozy fire when we checked in and Janet made sure we had everything we needed...even left some banana bread for us! The cabin was cozy, clean and roomy! Hope to be back!

We really enjoyed our stay. We came down for a private New Year’s Eve celebration and we were not disappointed. Lots to see in southern Illinois and this cabin exceeded our expectations.

Cabin was clean and comfortable. Conveniently located to local hiking attractions, Giant City, Ferne Clyffe, Little Grand Canyon. Well equipped kitchen. Would definitely stay here again.
