This is the 4th time I have stayed at the hotel, each time on a one night stopover on a journey through France into Spain, or vice versa, It is very convenient, within easy walking distance of the old town, castle, restaurants etc.
I have always managed to find street parking close by.
The check-in is invariably easy, with helpful staff, leaving nothing to be desired.
The rooms are quite adequate, with comfortable beds and an excellent en-suite.
I usually leave by 7am each time, so cannot comment on breakfast.
In the past there there have been no complaints, however this time a couple of relatively trivial issues cropped up.
The air conditioning was on when I entered the room, blowing too cold. I then discovered that it would not respond to the pressing of any buttons. It was also noisy enough that I knew it would disturb my sleep. I went back down to reception, explaining to the helpful receptionist that if I could not control it from the room, it was best switched off altogether. This he was able to do remotely, although I did not get to the bottom of why it could not be controlled in the room.
Although it was a modern en-suite, the paint was looking pretty battered around the door and frame, not presenting well. Maybe it was towards the end of the season, and this will be rectified when business is quieter?
On top of this, the price for one night had risen by around 20% since my last stay in June, which, given no aircon running costs, was a little annoying!
It won't prevent me from staying there again, however.
