Hotel Kuiperduin

Easy check in.

A big threshold between my room and the bathroom, which made me almost fall during the night. Perhaps it would be good to check the age of the person staying there (I am 75)

The room was large and clean, with tv and kettle, and the shower worked well. There was coffee available, both in the room and in the dining room area. We had access to a kitchen with a fridge and microwave, which was useful for us as we were on a cycle tour. There was a good space in the hotel.garden to keep our tandem bike safely. There were also some bijou tables and chairs set out on a covered terrace for each room's occupants.

The self check-in, although rather impersonal, did work after we called the phone number on the entrance door (our PIN access code did not work). There were 'big-brother' style cameras watching your every move, and this allowed a remote staff member to assist if required.. The word 'hostel'' would be a far better description of the environment, as there were clearly several longer-term occupants who, although pleasant enough, made quite a lot of noise with their music. Although there was a kitchen, and it was well equipped, it was more like a student house kitchen than what would be expected in a hotel.

The place is relaxed and offers nice amenities like free espresso drinks and a kitchen. The staff are SUPER helpful. We had a Lot Of baggage to get to the ferry and could not get an uber to come. The proprietor managed to fit a gigantic dog airline crate in his small vehicle and took a second trip to bring the rest of your things. Would not take a dime. Lovely, kindhearted man.

Quiet location

Interesting place. Never met any staff. Checked in and out alone over the phone.
