We had a wonderful stay at Los Tambos. What stood out most was the warm, genuine service. The staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. One staff member went out of his way for us: he gave us great tips on where to find the best buñuelos and chifa in town. When we ordered soup for delivery and the restaurant forgot the spoons, he helped us get some right away. Small gestures like that really make a difference.
The room was cozy and comfortable. It stayed warm at night, which we appreciated in Arequipa. The mattress was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious with nice hot water.
The breakfast was a highlight. We loved the caprese sandwich and the fresh papaya juice. It was also a lovely touch to find pan de tres puntas, the traditional Arequipa bread.
We'd happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Arequipa!

The staff was wonderful and helpful. Breakfast was good and they gave us a great boxed lunch for an early tour.
The hot water in the shower was iffy.

Location is amazing. Beds super comfortable. Great breakfast.
Rooms are a little small. Also try to get a room somewhere in the middle. Rooms on the road could be noisy (I was told) and on my second visit I was next to the lift as well which was a bit noisy.

El hotel está bien situado, tiene un rooftop pequeño con una vista bonita. El desayuno es aceptable, pero para alguien que no come gluten la única opción son huevos revueltos. El hotel es limpio. José en la recepción fue muy amable.
No definiría este hotel como boutique.
1. Se puede oír TODO lo que pasa en el hotel. Los baños tienen un hueco que da a un ducto de ventilación (ver foto). El hueco tiene un vidrio que gira y que no se puede cerrar; a pesar de que uno lo intente, el aire hace que el vidrio permanezca abierto y por eso uno escucha con claridad todo lo que pasa en los baños del edificio (0 privacidad).
2. Incluso si solucionaran ese problema, a través de las paredes y de los vidrios de las habitaciones se oye el sonido del TV de la habitación al otro lado del corredor, la gente caminando en el corredor, los pasos de la persona del cuarto de arriba e incluso el timbre de las notificaciones de un celular en otro piso!
3. El hotel es viejito y se nota que ha tenido ajustes cosméticos pero no una remodelación profunda.
