Everything was perfect. Genevieve's breakfasts surpassed all expectations. She made restaurant reservations for me and diligently engaged in english and my little french to have lovely discussions.
Parking and navigation in Quarante (like every French village) is "tricky", but eventually starts to make sense. Unfortunately, there are not many local restaurants (Walking distance), but there are several within a 10 minute easy drive. So you will need a car, but the locals tolerate confused drivers and street parking is easy to find.

Genevieve, the owner, made us welcome from our arrival to our departure. The premises were spotless and the breakfast abundant and all apart from the bread and butter were prepared by her. All tasted excellent, the “clafoutis aux abricots” was tops. Genevieve was also very knowledgeable about the area and the history of village. A truly pleasant stay.
One embarrassing moment was when I asked if she had been paid by Booking.com they having taken the fee for my stay two weeks prior to our visit. The owner hadn’t been paid!! I do feel that Booking. Com should have settled the account soon after taking the fee. Everyone is finding these times difficult and we should all play our part making certain that matters run smoothly. I have always used B. com and have been very pleased with the service. Let’s not spoil it! SR.

Lovely house, amazing host, beautiful breakfast!
Very quiet village and minimal outside space but within short drives of many significant languedoc towns and sights.
