Very clean and we stayed in the “Memory room “ which was pink and cute.
Nice downstairs lounge and coffee area.
The dog at reception growled when I went to pat it. My mistake, there’s a sign in mandarin but maybe one in English also would be good. I can’t read mandarin unfortunately. Be aware if you have a child.

1999 Homestay is cheerfully designed with themed rooms. I stayed in the Balloon Room. It may be the smallest of the rooms designed for a solo traveler, yet sufficient space to move comfortably around in. The bathroom/shower is spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet for sleeping.
The Indonesian “Auntie” who welcomes guests, provides housekeeping and ensures the common areas and coffee room are clean and well maintained was such a delight to see and speak with (using a translator app)! She is warm, always smiling and eager to meet the needs a guest may have! The English- speaking manager is equally friendly, attentive and accommodating. We communicated largely via WhatsApp and at times we spoke by phone or in person. He always responds timely leaving a definite impression he wants guests to feel comfortable and happy during their stay at 1999 Homestay. He also arranged a taxi to take me to the train station upon my departure. I enjoyed my four nights stay very much at this artistically unique place thanks to these two wonderful and conscientious personnel who made me feel at home with them!

Large and spacious room and bathroom with a full size bath and seperate shower. Extremely clean throughout. Coffee and filtered water facilities in the reception area were fantastic
