We had three couples staying at the rental to run the Honolulu Marathon and then have fun around the island. While I can't recommend the organization of the marathon, the house was excellent. It shows that they care about the place and work to maintain it. In fact Glen had found a problem as he was setting up for our arrival and had his handyman come by to fix it, after notifying us he would be there.
Glen was great about communicating and the house was well stocked with the basics. He got us fresh beach towels and made sure we had access to all the water sports items we might need. One of the couples has dietary restrictions, so Glen let us send a box of their food ahead of time and had it waiting for us in the rental. Very convenient.
This rental is behind his other rental, but other than the long narrow driveway, we didn't notice the other house or the guests there. Very quiet neighborhood, but with a great view and not too far to groceries or downtown. We spent a lot of time out on the large porch enjoying the view and using the grill out there.
The washer/dryer outside by the front entrance was very handy and we used it several times. One of my friends fell in love with the ukelele that was in the house and we took it with us as we toured the island, our own personal musician. He purchased a ukelele once we got back home.
The house has a lot of nice touches, and we all agreed it was a great choice to hit all of our island activities.
We also rented Glen's Honda minivan included with this rental, and it was perfect for driving around the island. It ran well and had a few scratches from previous renters that he was sure to document so that we would not be blamed for them. Plenty of room for six adults and our associated baggage.
I have been raving about this stay since I got back and recommend it to anyone who is going to Oahu who wants to be near Honolulu, but not stuck in the touristy areas.

Great stay!
Glen and his home is amazing! They were so kind and were quick to respond to all our questions. We were a family of 9 (including a toddler) and we found the amenities more than enough. There were lots of baby things available that we barely had to bring any of ours!
The balcony has a great view and we even caught a glimpse of the fireworks on Fridays.

A perfect spot in paradise!

While not luxurious, it was perfect for our family of five adults!
It truly was a home away from home with everything we could possibly need all provided! Even the mini van! That was a great bonus! We loved having our meals on outdoor covered deck relishing the gorgeous view! Glen and Lara are the perfect hosts! Very responsive from beginning to end! Oh! Washer and dryer were also a great help!

The perfect home away from home!
As one who grew up not far from this home, I wanted my family to have the Honolulu experience I've always loved. Glen and Lara's Ocean View Diamond Head delivered in every way. The central location made it easy to come and go, especially with the inclusion of the Honda Odyssey van. The awesome views blew away even this Honolulu native. The home was clean and well appointed, providing a comfortable base for our family of five adults. The Robinsons were immediately responsive to any questions or concerns we had and made our stay effortless. A delightful experience!!!

Super excellent service!!
Three families lived together at OVDH and kids attended punahou summer school. Each room has bath room and keep the privacy. We enjoyed to stay at OVDH for a week. Especially viewing from the lanai is super. Glen kindly respond very quickly, even if he goes to mainland.
I would like to come back again and defenitelly recommend for everyone.

A wonderful experience
We stayed at Glen and Lara's place for a week. The number of rooms worked out great for us as we have three kids. The bedroom downstairs has its own bath and is a nice private one for the second couple. The place is conveniently located, near the freeway entrance, shops, and Waikiki beach. The views of Diamond Head, the city, and water are quite lovely. We enjoyed having our our meals on the balcony. Glen and Lara are responsive and friendly. Being able to rent the van is a huge plus. Our kids loved the beaches and there are plenty of beach gear at the house. It was a great experience for all of us.

What a great experience. Less than 2 miles from wakiki beach. Great views. Pictures are accurate. We were eight in out party. 5 adults and 3 kids. We enjoyed our time greatly. Felt like home away.

Amazing stay!
We could not have been happier with home, the view, or the overall experience. The owners were quick to respond to any communication. The house was clean and was just as it appeared in the photos. The views from the deck are truly something special. Our party included four adults and an infant, and the size of the home was more than specious enough. There are many extras that are not even listed, including a great supply of beach accessories. We will certainly explore returning to the same home in the future.

Clean, Nice, Million Dollar View
Property was very nice and clean with a beautiful view from the partially covered lanai. We spent most of our time on the lanai. Glen and Lara were exceptional hosts - they provided a generous welcome basket, were very accommodating to our needs, and even gave us a parting gift. Highly recommend staying here.

Great place to stay!
Our family rented this home for our daughter's wedding and we were more than pleased with the accommodations. The lanai is incredible with its furnishings and view and it was was exactly what we were hoping for. We comfortably slept 9 people and although the living area/kitchen isn't huge, it is adequate space for everyone. We were also super impressed with all of the extras in the house ~ many beach towels, Keurig coffee, gift basket, computer w/internet, cleaning products/laundry detergents, sports/snorkeling equipment, chairs, on and on. It was centrally located and convenient to everything. We loved the home and highly recommend it!

This house was fantastic. The owners have truly paid attention to every detail and we sure enjoyed it. The location was close to many of the places we wanted to visit, so it was nice to be only a short drive from 'home'. The gift basket was great and such a nice touch. The kids loved playing the Wii in the evenings after a day of outdoor activities and I enjoyed catching the first World Cup games on the HDTV. We all enjoyed eating out on the lanai gazing at the incredible view. The best thing was looking at the city lights at night. It is amazing how quiet it is outside even though you can see so many lights and cars and activity.
Of course the house was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the owners were super nice. We can hardly wait to come back.

All I can say is - WOW!! Me and 5 of my good friends had the pleasure of staying at this residence from June 12 - June 16, 2010 and I still can't believe we booked such an amazing place. From the moment we drove up the hill and long driveway, we were astonished at how lucky we were to book such an aesthetically wonderful place. That is only where the fun began!!
All the rooms were comfortable and had more than enough space for us. The lanai was perfect, so that you could sit out there and enjoy the view. OH THE VIEW!!!! As you can see from the pictures, it doesn't get much better than that. The living room was quite comfortable with a new flatscreen TV and free movies and Wii which we did use quite a bit.
Coming home after a long day at the beach and being able to relax on the lanai while eating a nice meal was wonderful. We had the luxury of cooking and barbequing our own meals at this place and did take advantage of it by purchasing steaks and seafood at the Costco that was close by.
Sandy Beach and Hanauma Bay were just a few miles away. My favorite was Sandy Beach for the amazing body surfing and HUGE waves, but Hanauma Bay offered some of the best snorkeling I have ever seen. Waikiki was bustling and is just 5 minutes away.
Lara was an absolute pleasure to deal with. She was very accommodating and even let us stay quite late on our last day due to our late flight back to the East Coast.
Overall, an amazing experience at an amazing place. If I ever go back to Hawaii, I will absolutely do my best to secure this place again. The picture from my bedroom is now the screensaver on my phone so it will remind me of all the great times we had there.

This was was just right for our spring break vacation. We especially enjoyed the quiet mornings on the Lanai, sipping our coffee and enjoying the view, and winding down in the evenings with a glass of wine - again enjoying the view. We spent most of the days running around the island enjoying the water, so it was nice to have a very comfortable home to relax in. Beach equipment and towels came in handy, and we loved being able to throw all our dirty things straight from the car to the washer and dryer everyday!!! Thanks for everything!!!

We had never stayed in an accommodation in Hawaii where somebody introduced the property to us when we checked in. Lana did that for the first time for us. Later I realized that was a reflection of how important she considers providing her guests with the best time in Honolulu is. The house has many things that make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The view from the lanai is just magnificent. If this house will not available during our next travel plan to Hawaii, we will probably reschedule our trip so that we can stay here to have another great time in Honolulu. This house is just such a treasure for tourists.

Our stay here was the best. Everyone loved the luxurious comfy beds - the kids to the grandparents all commented on how comfortable the beds and bedding were! The house and view was jaw dropping beautiful with lots of thought for our comfort and enjoyment. Beautiful kitchen and baths, big screen tv, bbq, and so many amenities rarely found in rental condos or homes eg: washer/dryer, laundry soap, bath soaps, paper towels, shampoos, lotions, spices, condiments, etc. If you want a piece of heaven here on earth stay here.
