Aloha! Come bring your ohana (family) and friends to sit on our beautiful wrap around patio at our beautiful Pu'uhonua (place of refuge) with breathtaking tropical views. The great room and kitchen are the heart of Pu'uhonua located on the 2nd floor featuring wrap around windows making it feel like you are experiencing the outside from within. This arrangement allows guests the option of making meals at home while still enjoying every part of Kauai's beauty. The amazingly grand lanai allows for outdoor dining under the stars providing a large gathering area, but Pu'uhonua also offers the privacy of three bedrooms (1 upstairs and 2 downstairs) each having their own complete bathroom and private tranquil lanai. Each room has its own ceiling fan for additional comfort with the cool tropical trade wind breeze. For those of you who need to stay in touch with the real world we offer free wireless internet service. When you are on vacation it is all about location and our open air Pu'uhonua home sits in the lushly landscaped 70 acre Poipu Kai Resort conveniently located between Shipwrecks Beach and Poipu Beach. Poipu Beach has been rated as one of the top ten beaches in North America featuring a peaceful 'baby beach' for keiki (child) to play in the sun, while still staying cool. If you are interested in snorkeling, then Poipu beach can offer you a variable paradise of beautiful and exotic tropical fish. If you are more of a boogie boarding thrill seeker then Shipwrecks Beach is the place for you with some of the best surf on the island. The best part about all of this is that these beaches are simply a 15 minute walk on the green belt of Poipu Kai and we will provide everything you will need to enjoy a day at the beach including snorkel gear, boogie boards, umbrellas, coolers, beach chairs, mats, and beach towels!!! If you need a break from the beach, this rental is also apart of the Poipu Kai Resort Complex allowing access to numerous amenities including resort pool, jacuzzi, and multiple tennis courts. If you are interested in taking a swing at Kauai's most prestigious golf courses than you need to look no further than Poipu. Our rental is down the road to the Poipu Bay Golf course, which is home to the illustrious PGA Grand Slam. Historic Koloa Town, Poipu Shopping Center, and Kukui'ula Village Shopping Center are about 3 miles away from the rental offering a mixture of amazing restaurants (Keoki's and Roy's are amazing), unique shops, and convenient grocery stores. Poipu is ideally located on the sunny south side of the island with equal traveling distance between the lushly vibrant North Shore and the scenic 'West Side' with it's breathtaking Waimea Canyon (The Grand Canyon of the Pacific) and the spectacular shear cliffs of the Na Pali Coast all seen from Koke'e State Park. Having all of this adds up to a restful and invigorating stay on this beautiful Garden island of Kauai! E komo mai (come and enjoy)!!

This house felt like our home! A great place to start off our day with a big hearty breakfast, and be able to come home at the end of our day exploring the island and make a delicious dinner in a short amount of time. The amenities were great and we had everything we needed - well stocked kitchen tools and dishes/cookware for cooking. Comfortable living and sleeping areas. Great location with a short walk to multiple beaches in the area. Enjoyed the use of the pool and hot tub not too far walking distance away.

This house was in a great location for all island activities--all within an hours drive. There was a large open kitchen, dinning, and living area with comfortable seating to watch movies (which we did every night after our busy daytime activities.) The house is in a safe neighborhood with access to a pool and jacuzzi and only about a ten minute walk to the beach--for the two young adults and about a 15 minute walk for the older generation. (There were five adults in our group--three parents and two adult children in their twenties.) Located in the garage and available for use, is everything a guest may need for a day at the beach. We used the towels, umbrella, snorkeling gear, body boards, foldable wagon, cooler on wheels, backpack cooler, and beach chairs. There are also items for use for small children and babies. The home was decorated with a personal, homey, island touch. (Not ABC Store touristy at all.) Each of the three bedrooms were very private and had their own lanai. When we were there, Poipu beach had 12 sea turtles on the beach and 1-2 sea lions basking/sleeping in the sun during the day. There are jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, board games provided for rainy day activities as well. (We had only a half day of rain and we decided to spend that time buying groceries at Costco and Walmart and eating at area restaurants.) We had an enjoyable time and would definitely stay here again!

This is a very nice home to stay in. The beds were very comfortable, the living area very spacious and the owners provided pretty much everything you would need for a vacation. We appreciated that they had several beach chairs, snorkeling equipment and beach towels. The place is very high tech with power curtains and fans operated by remote. We loved the location of the house as it was near Poipu Beach and a short drive to many local sights. Overall we were very pleased. The home has some age to it but that certainly isn’t a deterrent to our potentially returning there.

Four older family members stayed for a week. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. Large well equipped kitchen and rec room. Many amenities provided including any beach equipment you could want. Walking distance to the beach. It is airy with lots of large windows and sliding doors and an upstairs wrap around porch. Access to a pool and Jacuzzi. I highly recommend. Our only complaint was the floors were not mopped and it could use some dusting. Otherwise an ideal property. Thanks to our hosts.

The home is a charming 3 bedroom, with a large living room and kitchen. The kitchen was very well equipped. Great for a group of friends or family.
The owner is very good about communicating with you and we were lucky enough to go in earlier than the stated time.
The area is quiet. There is a great pool for guests, with a good sized jacuzzi. They also have a good number of tennis courts.
Overall, a great place to enjoy your vacation!

We have rented several vacation homes through VRBO. This home is one of our favorites! The location near area beaches and the ability to go anywhere on the island within an hour are big advantages! The rooms are comfortable and roomy with on-suite bathrooms and private patios. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. Snorkeling gear with fins, beach chairs and umbrellas, coolers, a foldable wagon, beach towels, and boogie boards were all available. If I had smaller children or babies, there were lots of baby items available to make your stay easy and comfortable. The home was beautiful, clean, and comfortable.

Was pretty nice. The area was great. Couldn’t sleep with the sliders open. Screens don’t lock. Windows don’t open just the ones with shutters and they’re so small and not helpful but also can’t close those.
With no AC it would be nice to be able to sleep with sliders open.
I did ask owner if sleeping with sliders open is recommended for safety and never did hear back.
Had a few of those B 52 roaches inside.
Guess that’s just part of the way it is there.
The home was nice. We did enjoy our stay there.
I understand it’s expensive to have AC and knew this when I rented the place.
Overall it was all good.

The home was in the perfect location for the benches and restaurants. Although an older home, it has been very well maintained and clean. Owners were very attentive to our needs and responded to all our requests.

Location was great! Responsiveness of owner was great. The home was lovely.
The only issue we had is the deep cleaning not being up to date. Fans and carpet were not cleaned. Housekeeper came the next day to clean them but the dust accumulation was not just on the fans but on the pictures, decorations and lamps. Locks on the sliding doors were not working and screen door was ripped. However, I know the handyman was there to do repairs but could not finish at that time.
These things happen overall house was great, sheets and towels were clean and that was great!

We stayed one week in this rental home. Our family of 6; ages between 8-67 found the location, space, amenities all worked well for our vacation time. The owner responded to most of my questions promptly. The condition of the house was in fair shape. It is a older home that has had a lot of use. There is some evident deferred maintenance and things needing attention. The ceiling fan remotes were nearly impossible to run. Steep tiled steps to the upstairs are scary and need full focus to maneuver. Kitchen is good size. Appliances worked fine, after we figured out the stove knobs that were completely worn of printed heat levels. Update/ upgrading the dinnerware would be a big help. The upstairs decking needs attention for the broken loose boards. On a more positive note the beds were comfortable- the master bed is raised, so if you’re short (like me) you might need a hand getting into it. I’m not trying to dissuade anyone from renting the house… as an owner of two ( California) VRBO units myself I know there are some things that renters expect-besides cleanliness.

This house was a perfect place to roost in Poipu. Afforded us a walkable neighborhood and all the accessories for the pool & beaches, too.

We enjoyed our time together on vacation. This home allowed us to have our own retreats. Very well stocked kitchen and appliances. We prepared our thanksgiving meal here. It was also convenient to be so close to everything. The huge lanai on the upper floor was our favorite place to relax.

Great location and property. Only reason this isn’t a 5 star is that ALL of the dishes in the cabinet were dirty with baked on food and other junk. Had to soak and rewash all glasses, cups, and plates before we could use.

Only a few things that could be improved mainly in the housekeeping area:
- more toilet paper - only enough for 1/2 the stay
- dusty bedrooms

We came to Kauai for a family wedding. Our first day and night were great. From then on it was a mess. 2nd evening here, a huge (2 inches long I have pics to prove it)cockroach runs across the center island and down the side of the cabinet. We chase accross the floor to kill it and it climbed straight up the wall. After moving furniture 3 of us were able to surround it and kill it. Later same night 3 a.m., my daughter and partner wake up TWICE to find 2 more roaches IN BED with them. Texted owner and she tried to tell me some line about that's life on the island. I have been to Kauai twice as well as 3 trips to other islands. I have never, ever shared my living space with cockroaches. She hooked me up with their pest control company and had me work with them to get the house sprayed. The pest control person told me they call these type of roaches B52 Bombers because they are so big. Found out later that my husband had killed 2 the first day but didn't tell me because he didn't want me to get upset. All totalled we killed 7. 4 before the spray and 3 after also 1 found dead after spray and 1 got away the last night there. They are in the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen which means they are crawling over dishes and utensils. We washed every plate and fork and glass before we used it. My daughter ended up sleeping on the sofa and was a jittery mess the rest of the trip.
We had 40 other family members on the island this week for a destination wedding, staying in various hotels and home rentals, not one of them saw a single roach. I attempted to obtain some manner of refund or recompense from the owner and her response was that the previous renter didn't see any bugs nor did the housekeeper. She stopped just short of calling me a liar and finally texted "NO!" and that was the last communication I recived.
We also noted that previous guests signed their house guest book and made mention of the big cockroaches and even drew a picture in the book. This has obviously been a problem for some time as that entry was dated 2020!
Now my biggest fear is that I may have brought one home with me in my luggage. Left our bags out in the yard to unpack just to be safe. What a nightmare!!!

This home was perfect for our stay. We traveled with 4 adults and two children and everyone had plenty of room. The home was located within walking distance to beaches and the property grounds are gorgeous. The owner has truly thought of everything to accommodate everyone. There are baby items, plenty of snorkel gear, water proof phone covers, shopping bags, beach chairs, body boards, etc. already there. Communication was excellent as well. The house does not have AC, however there are plenty of fans and a unit downstairs. The breeze is amazing though. We left the doors open with the screens shut and was absolutely comfortable. Our favorite feature was the porch! We are many meals out on the porch together enjoying the view and breeze. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

This property was perfectly located. I loved taking my morning walks to the beach.
The house had everything we could possibly need. So much room for our party of 5. The cross breeze was really great and with the fans on in the early evening, the house really cooled down nicely even without a/c.

We enjoyed our visit to this side of the island. The home is in a great location and very walkable. Loved the wrap around deck and the multilayered yard!

Amazing Rental for Our Family
This rental was perfect for my family of four, though the house could have easily fit more people. Beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked to make meals at home, and the neighborhood was quiet and beautiful! I appreciated the timely and prompt communication with the host, and the check in/out process was easy. Highly recommend!

Nestled in Poipu Kai, this property is centralized on the island no matter if you’re going to Polihale on the west side; or to Hanalei on the north shore. Not to mention all the activities already here in Poipu. Not to mention this house is huge. Your family will stay comfortably here for sure!

Amazing house
This house was located in a great area. Close to beaches, restaurants and shopping. It was spacious for 5 adults. With 3 bedrooms and baths my husband and I, my daughter and son-in-law, my son all had our own bedrooms and bathrooms. The upstairs living room and kitchen gave us plenty of room to spread out. Instructions on do’s and don’ts were well explained. We had a great time. I would definitely rent this house again.

Hedy's house is large and with a fabulous location; just a 7 minute walk to Poipu beach and 5 minute walk to swimming pool and spa. It is well accommodated, and a great place for an extended family or several families to share (the cost).
My only quibble was that the outside dining tables needed to be wiped, and you do want to eat outside to take advantage of the weather. In addition, the bed frame in the room with two twin beds sticks out, and my elderly mother injured her leg on the frame and we had to take her to the ER. So be careful!

This property was fantastic! The location was ideal with easy walks to two lovely beaches, plenty of space for the kids to play around outside, and fun landscaping for the kids to explore. The house itself was spacious with everything we could ask for. We really appreciated the wagon to haul kids and gear to and from the beach. Overall, we would love to stay here again!
