The staff were super nice and helpful and there is an in-house cafe with discounted prices for hostel guests. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
The location is not beach front even tho it says so on booking.com which was a bummer because we really wanted a beach front location. But it was just across the street from the beach so it wasn't a big deal.

Convenience, safety, staff, and overall experience
Nothing too bad.. just that it’s not pet friendly as stated on booking.. cos there are two resident dogs who are a threat to guests pets

The staff was the best. They were quite friendly. Well prepared to accept me as a guest and unbelievably polite. Hospitality at its best.

Good location, right next to Kabalana beach. The bathroom and shower was nice.
The doors to the rooms are super thin - they do not block any noise. Passing trains are very loud. No terrace in the one person room, you can't call a concrete doorstep a terrace. "Garden view" = some grass in front of the room. The room was right next to the common kitchen.
There was no common hang out area, hammocks or beanbags.
