We had a great stay! It’s beautifully designed, a tropical oasis and you can clearly see it was very well thought in minimal details! The food is outstanding and absolutely spend every penny in their lunch/dinner options as well as cocktails. Their own massage “Aldeias” is exceptional and was an unforgettable experience! Considering the level of delivery, the hotel is not cheap, but the pricing is very aligned with the quality provided!
In the restaurant, the staff were not always very attentive when it came to placing orders or checking whether everything was well and if anything else was needed. The tables have a bell system to call service, but we weren’t sure whether it was functioning properly, as pressing the button did not consistently result in someone coming to assist us.
One additional note:
At checkout, a service charge was proposed and calculated by the property. While it was not mandatory and we value and respect good service, it felt unexpected after already paying a premium rate that we naturally assumed included service.
This detail does not take away from the fact that the hotel itself is excellent, it was just an unexpected situation after what had otherwise been a flawless experience. It is a beautiful place that delivers on what it promises at every level. It’s simply something to be aware of when settling the final bill.

Friendly staff location and breakfast the green garden . It’s a beautiful place but seems like it sometimes could use the owners eye more !
Cleaning was inconsistent , staff didn’t always closed the balcony doors . The bungalow had a newer bathroom but needed actually some fresh paint , which is easy to do and would lift up the interior . Water for tea at breakfast was never hot always had to set it up our self’s one day didn’t have hot water for tea but the staff didn’t bother to boil some in the kitchen . At check out we were presenter a tax bill , high summ but not mandatory to pay after we questioned. Was only to show satisfaction with the services. The place is missing the afternoon coffee cake and also doesn’t supply free drinking water . At the price this should be included and the afternoon cake is so typical for Brasil . A total

We stayed at Aldeia do Mar (now called Aldeia do Mar Sensorial Hotel) and overall had a nice experience. The location is very good, right in front of the beach, with a small lighthouse nearby that creates beautiful sunset landscapes. The beach itself is excellent: calm like a swimming pool and easy to walk along. Our bungalow was quiet, surrounded by greenery, and at night the only sounds were the waves and nature, very relaxing. The bed was OK (the mattress a bit too soft for us), but we slept well. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of options. The hotel’s restaurant is also very good (prices are high, but in line with the best restaurants in town). It’s about a safe 10 minute walk to the city center (just avoid carrying expensive items, remember where you are). Contrary to some reviews we had read, the road to the hotel and the street in front of it are fine. Remember, this is the Northeast of Brazil, not Germany. Free of noise, beautiful setting, and overall peaceful atmosphere.
We enjoyed our stay, did a cocoa farm visit and a boat tour, and had a good time as a family. That said, it didn’t leave us with the feeling of wanting to return like other places we’ve visited. It’s worth staying once and enjoying the experience, but probably not a “come back” place for us.
There are some important points to note. This is not a private resort: the beach is public and shared with locals and tourists. It’s not a problem, but sometimes the way it’s advertised can be misleading. Some bungalows require climbing stairs, which could be challenging for people with reduced mobility. Staff can and will help with luggage, but daily movement might be complicated, so it’s worth asking for a ground-floor bungalow. When we arrived, the room setup wasn’t as agreed despite confirming in advance, though housekeeping kindly fixed it by adding an extra bed for our child. Communication with staff isn’t always easy, but with patience it works. Also, there’s a small stream right in front of the hotel that looked quite dirty (not smelly, but clearly not clean). We understand it isn’t part of the hotel, but for the price charged, one would expect some maintenance of the surroundings.

Location was good. The outside was well maintained.
The service was pathetic. Very slow and untrained staff. Customer service was non existent for the amount of people working there. For this amount of money, I can have breathtaking experiences in Thailand and Philippines with service that is unmatched.
