The facilities at Chalet Gädi were excellent.The converted barn had so much character - just what I had hoped for. Bed was very comfortable, including the special tree pillow. Bathroom was finished to a high standard. Shower was great.
Susanne was so nice to come and open the washing machine cupboard for us. After a week of hillwalking we really needed to clean our gear.
Views of the Matterhorn were amazing. Especially from the terrace. Once we got up early for a guided hike and saw a line of head torches heading up the Matterhorn from the Hörnlihütte! It was spectacular.
The first evening we sat outside, a young deer stopped by.
There were quite a few spiders. Luckily a vacuum cleaner was available.

It was a bit difficult to find on arrival. It is difficult to get the luggage to and from the streets to get a taxi.

Fantastic views of the Matterhorn, plus the town of Zermatt, especially from the bedroom upstairs which means the view is wonderful to look at when you wake up in the morning! Very comfort and cosy refurbished old cabin which has real authenticity. The owners are very friendly and always helpful.
The three flights of stairs to go to the toilet during the night and carting up all our ski gear from the road below.
