Loved this property. Stayed in one off the small studio apartments with a hot tub in the deck an expansive views. Also had a very eclectic collection of animals including meerkats and an African turtle. 🙏 The hosts are lovely and the breakfast is very good.

Monte com boa localização para quem pretende fazer o passeio no Alqueva e observação das estrelas.
O monte tem vários animais o que, também, é interessante para quem vai com bebés.
A Susana e o Vasco são muito simpáticos e prestáveis. Permitiram que fizéssemos o check out tardio, sem qualquer custo.

Monte Santa Catarina is in a magical area in the Alentejo. Beautiful landscape and so quiet - at night we heard only the soft sound of cowbells and frogs in the fields. Our room was big with a great view of the Monsaraz castle - and the air conditioning worked great. Breakfast was lovely with a wide variety (even vegan options) and delicious homemade orange cake. The hosts were great - recommended a fabulous local restaurant for dinner and tips on other things to see in the area. We visited the Alqueva Dark Sky Observatory for star gazing (1 minute drive), Monsaraz (5 minute drive) and the Alqueva Lake (5 minute drive). The property also has a fantastic pool and outdoor lounging area to relax in.

Easy check in lovely host. Proximity to town and the dark sky experience. The private jacuzzi and separate apartment. Menagerie of animals was a curio for sure. On site parking good.
The bed was not comfy. But ok for one night. Public areas could be cleaned up some.
