They were decent accommodations clean and basic. It was convenient for the purpose of my trip. I would not make it a destination stay. If you do go out to dinner there the first street going towards the port I’d a Japanese restaurant the one next door to a place that said it has pizza and music. I sat at the bar and had a delicious meal. Just make sure you arrive before last call at 7:00 pm.
The grilled Kama (yellowtail collar) daikon salad (radish) and clam soup with large beer was the best experience in that town.
I felt a bit gas lit. It was the feeling as I walked through the door to the front desk. I thought wow kudos to the photographer for capturing angles to make it look brighter, better and bigger. They were not recent pictures. The pictures on the site alluded to an onsen and a view. Not exactly what the reality is. They have vouchers for a “onsen” down the road, a 20min walk. That hotel had the same feeling and it was not worth the 20min walk. It was completely opposite of the nice onsen shown in the picture. But it’s an old sleepy town that is convenient for the Nachi Katsuura area sight seeing. FYI the town stores close around 4:00/5:00. And last call for restaurant 7:00. There is food at The Family Mart that is open.
