I enjoyed the experience of staying at this traditional Japanese ryokan run by the most hospitable family. Due to a change in plans I only stayed for a night but the elderly man and (I presume) his daughter were so welcoming, kind and helpful. I only saw the elderly lady for a brief moment but she was very smiley too.
The location is great, near Asahikawa Station and in a quiet neighbourhood.
I had a single room that was very spacious and clean, and even the common areas were clean.
The house is old but everything worked well, like the aircon/shower/toilet/hairdryer.
I added breakfast and I enjoyed the delicious Japanese breakfast. Oiishii!
There was a slight musty(?) smell in the room.
The stairs are steep so I had to be extra careful. Might not be suitable for those with mobility issues or young children.

Everything, it’s the most charming authentic ryokan. Breakfast is exceptional, futons are super comfortable. In general they do everything to make you feel at home. The location is also superb, just a couple of minutes walk from Daikokuya, the JR station and karaoke.
It was the only place that provided my husband with big enough indoor shoes.
You’re staying in a place with the highest sense and standard in hospitality.
