About this villa rental

Nestled in Panglao, this attractive villa for $54 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Over looking Libaong white sand beach on the famous Panglao Island, we are a two minute walk to the waters edge, yet set back on a hill giving peace and quiet away from noisy crowds. Alona Beach, with it's bars and restaurants is only a few kms away. We have two air-conditioned villas, each with an upstairs gallery bedroom with queen sized beds. Downstairs can be converted to a second bedroom with a pull out full sized double bed. Downstairs is a lounge, dining area with seating for four, kitchenette, and modern bathroom with temperature controlled shower and well lit vanity unit with large mirror and hair dryer. For those who would like to self cater, the kitchenette is complete with microwave oven, ceramic cook top stove, rice cooker toaster and fridge. All plates, cups, glasses and cutlery are supplied. The lounge area has comfortable seating for four. Entertainment centre comprises of a 32inch flat screen TV with satellite digital receiver and DVD player. We have an extensive DVD library you can freely borrow from. We have a bar next to the pool where you can purchase beer, wine and non alcoholic drinks. If your feeling the heat, you can either take a dip in our rock pool with waterfall or sit and relax in our pool spa set up in a cool corner to help take the heat out of the day. The garden has many shady spots to sit and escape with a good book. If you wish to get out and explore, the beach is a two minute walk (to the waters edge) away. There is very good snorkeling just off the beach (not that well known even by locals). Beautiful corals and fish to be seen.

Stay away from this property!! On line description of property, "Over looking Libaong white sand beach" What it did over look was an ugly boat repair shop scattered with paint cans, tools etc. No white sand beach in site from the unit, toilet did not function, there was not a closet nor dresser to store our clothes, after all we were booked for one month, were we expected to live out of a suitcase? On line picture shows a kitchen table and chairs, to have our meals, but instead, a double bed was in its place, and nowhere to sit and eat? We were only two people, and with luggage on the floor made it very cramped. The freezer part of the fridge was caked with at least seven cm of ice. It had not been defrosted in several months. The kitchen utensils appeared well worn, and not clean looking. The pool looked like it needed cleaning, water appeared foggy, online stated beer, wine can be purchased from the bar pool, but no wine was available. A total lack of attention to the overall maintenance of the unit. We stayed one night of our planned 31 day stay. The following morning was spent visiting other properties to rent. We were fortunate and did find a nice property which served us well. The twenty four hours or less that we spent at this property were very stressful and disappointing. We packed up and (was little to pack) informed the owner's wife that we are leaving, let her know the reasons why and asked for a refund. She informed us the funds were not in their account, we paid up front, in full, on July 28th 2019 seven month later funds not received? Our past experience in using VRBO/HomeAway, for at least seven years, has been one of complete satisfaction. This was a very nasty and unpleasant experience.- Total misrepresentation of the property.

Very friendly owners who are very happy to give you advice on where to go and to help you to book the tours. The early morning dolphin watching boat trip is a must do. The accommodation is exactly as it describes, 2 minutes walk to the beach. Breakfast was wonderful, they even prepared take-out breakfast and water for us to take with us on the boat trip. They also offer free lifts to Alona beach and Bohol Bee Farm, which was very handy. I would not hesitate to go back if I visit Bohol again.

My only regret about my time at Island View is that I didn't stay longer. Kelvin and Glenda bend over backwards to make sure their guests' holidays are trouble-free and completely relaxing. From the minute their driver Danny picked me up from the pier (free of charge) to when my hosts dropped me back there (again free) the entire holiday went without a hitch. The villas are adorable, with polished wooden floors, large HD TV, small kitchen (with fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and basic cooking utensils), strong air conditioning and a compact bathroom. The villa's little balcony looks out through coconut trees and palms to the sea and catches afternoon breezes, but there are other bigger communal bar and garden areas that guests are free to use. The communal pool is just a few steps away and surrounded by colourful bouganvillea. The villas are a short walk from Libaong Beach (which is itself a short drive from the more touristy Alona Beach). I loved the fact that there mainly just locals enjoying Libaong and just a handful of resort restaurants. I had dinner at Dumaluan Resort each night and the food was superb (seafood bbq) and very reasonably priced. The restaurant is beachfront and they have really good singers performing in the evenings between 7.30pm and 10.30pm. For those who prefer to cook, Kelvin and Glenda will arrange shopping expeditions to the supermarket at Tagbiliran and are very helpful with advice. They also helped me book a firefly cruise and a day tour of Bohol Island, both of which were very competitively priced. My main reason for visiting Panglao was to dive and their lovely driver Danny dropped me off at the dive shop in Alona Beach each morning (a 10 minute trip) and I would get a tricycle back when I was done (the tricycles are a motorbike with a canopied side cart, cost is just 150 pesos). The day before I arrived Glenda texted me to ask if I would like to join the family on a snorkelling trip to Pamilican Island. How kind is that? By the end of the trip I actually felt like part of the family. One week was simply not enough. I cannot wait to get back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Island View Villas! Kelvin and Glenda are the perfect hosts, who went well over and above any expectations we had. They were extremely helpful and accommodating, and they treated us as if we were family. Their main focus is for their guests to have the best Philippine experience possible, and they were very successful. We both consider them friends now. We would love to go back and stay with them again.
