An absolute gem of a stay in Monticattini. Easy to get to Florence from here. About 40 minute drive. Such friendly staff, great service, great breakfast and I would definitely recommend to others. Air con was a welcome relief too!! Thank you kindly.

Quality - Price ratio = Wow. Lovely hotel in the center of Lucca. Franco was amazing and very kind. The breakfast was perfect. coulnd't ask for more.

We arrived during a rainstorm and really appreciated it when the receptionist moved her car so we could park right in front of the hotel. Our room was not in the main building but in a row of rooms on a walkway behind it. Our room was simply furnished with two single beds and a small table and chair. The heating was on so it was quite cosy. Breakfast next morning was in the big dining room - a continental breakfast buffet with plenty of options - lovely! There were bars and restaurants within walking distance - the Bar Piccolo had a pleasant outside seating area with tables.

The hotel is family-run, and the hosts were incredibly kind, courteous, and welcoming.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was newly renovated and very clean.
The only downside was the noise: we could clearly hear the toilet flushing from the floor above, which was quite disturbing.
Also, around 6:00 AM, it seems the municipality cleans the streets, and the noise from that was extremely loud and disruptive. We got up very early due to the noise.
