Montrose Guest House

My stay was absolutely perfect, bed was very comfortable, host was extremely polite & helpful and it wasn’t far from where I had planned my birthday celebrations, so was very happy with the overall stay. Host was also very understanding & responded to text messages promptly with some last minute requests on the day, so was very grateful & happy. Would stay again! 🙂

A very minor issue which didn’t really impact too negatively was the shower, it was extremely hot even on the coolest setting & not sure if there was supposed to be tea/ coffee provided but as stated this wasn’t something I was hugely impacted by so it was a minor. I was also upgraded to a bigger room & the owner was very understanding & accommodating 🙂

The location was ideal for myself, just a few minutes away from Romford central and only a two minute walk away is a local Sainsburys if you're needing anything. I was out of my room most days due to work but it had everything I needed plus more (a mini fridge!) comparing this to a shabby Camden hotel I was put up in the previous week for an extra £150 was wild. The owner Prashant was incredibly helpful and friendly, making sure I was settled in and maintaining everything to the highest quality. I would easily recommend to anyone needing to stay in Romford or who is happy to train in to central London.

The price was fair, the room became snug and warm, the TV was a good size. There was plenty of hot water. The owner was very welcoming. It was easy to find, an acceptable walk from Romford Station.

I was frequently asked for my arrival time. The toilet was private, but it was across the hall and down a corridor, the shower was ensuite which was much better. The floor was wood effect, as I presume was the one upstairs so I could hear every move by the occupant for a lot of the evening. The idea of a microwave is good, but not if it replaces a bedside light. I had to ask for the WiFi code by Text, it worked okay when I got it.
