Das wunderbare, hübsche kleine Cottage ist direkt an der Atlantikküste gelegen. Es ist ausgestattet mit allem, was man braucht, und nach den Tagesausflügen war es ein warmer, gemütlicher und ruhiger Rückzugsort. Die Lage ist auch für die Erkundung Islands super - die südliche Ringstraße liegt praktisch vor der Tür, Reykjavík ist nur eine knappe Stunde Fahrt entfernt, auch der Golden Circle ist gut erreichbar, und vieles mehr. Im Ort Eyrabakki selbst gibt es ein hervorragendes Restaurant (Rauða Husið) und eine kleine Tankstelle ist keine 50 Meter entfernt. In Sellfoss, mit dem Auto ca. 15 Minuten Fahrt, gibt es alle großen Supermärkte und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.
Und nicht zuletzt: Die Vermieter des Cottage sind ganz großartige, warmherzige Menschen, denen ich nochmal sehr für ihre Gastfreundschaft danken möchte! <3 Absolut empfehlenswert, und ich hoffe, bald wieder dorthin reisen zu können. Island hat ohnehin mein Herz gewonnen (ich war das dritte Mal da), aber das kleine Cottage und Eyrabakki zählen jetzt zu zu meinen ganz besonderen Lieblingsorten!

I spent a week in the smaller cottage at the end of December 2025. The accommodation was exactly as described, very cozy and quiet. I was afraid of the heating, but it was always pleasantly warm thanks to the underfloor heating.
Margrét was helpful. The town was small, with one restaurant and one gas station. But since you had to go everywhere by car anyway, the wide range of supermarkets in Selfoss, 10 minutes away, was enough for everything.
I can't say anything like that right now. I'll be back in the summer because I missed the barbecue and swimming in the ocean.
