The location of the hotel is amazing. It overlooks the Rio shorelines on a steep hillside. I loved my room as it had great views. The staff were all accommodative. I had such an amazing chat with the owner where we shared knowledge and words of wisdom. I was so impressed by the how she was able harbour love into a place. You can see it through the decor and central rooms. They also recycle gin bottles as water bottles showing how eco friendly they are as an establishment. The place feels homey and creates an intimate atmosphere for guests. I fell in love with this place and how they go beyond to make people feel welcomed. Many of the admin staff speak English including the owner and her sons. But this for me is just an extra because even the staff that can’t speak English welcome you and treat you with the greatest respect, kindness and hospitality.
They are upfront but if you have an issue with sharing the washroom please do reconsider booking. I did not have any issues as they always made sure the restrooms were clean. Moreover there was always an alternative restroom to use. I also didn’t mind the stairs but some people might. I loved everything.

Beautifully maintained, historic villa in the hills above Rio. Extensive breakfast buffet in a beautiful solarium. The pool and gardens are very refreshing after a long, hot day in the city.

Its location/ view was fantastic. Beautiful room and service. The bar by the pool was excellent. :)
