The Village Inn

Great little place to stay. Staff always friendly and personable. Food great, comfortable bed. Not much more I need.

Meals in the restaurant were good quality.

Shower was incorrectly fitted so difficult to use. No replacement on cups/biscuits or making up of the bed.

The staff were super friendly, Leanne went above and beyond to accommodate us with a super early check in and a temporary vacant room to get changed in as ours were being cleaned and we were heading to a wedding. The cleaner was also super friendly and helpful, storing our bags in our room once we were changed. For £50 each a night to recieve a lovely room and phenomenal service it is a steal Thankyou very much to Leanne and the team for looking after us :)

The bed was comfortable and the room nicely decorated and renovated, eg the exposed old oak beams. Well-located to go to lots of local sites, eg Alnwick and Seahouses.

When we got there, there was an unbelievably loud and penetrating noise from the room next door. The staff didn't seem to have a lot of clues about it (seemingly from the toilet) but fortunately did have a spare room to move us to; it was a Sunday, so nothing more could be done even though we could still hear the noise slightly. Monday night was Trivia Quiz night in the bar below. We could have participated from our room. We could hear every question. One of the later rounds was music, which was so loud it made the floor vibrate. It also went until after 10.30 pm, so pretty unreasonable. We'd read other reviews that commented on it being noisy but thought that it cant really be that bad; it is! They probably shouldn't try to operate accommodation.
