Dreadful

No breakfast available. The carpets were filthy. Housekeeping was poor and eractic. No heating in bedroom in the evening. No heating at all in the bathroom. The bed sheets were not changed in 10 days. Outside pub opening hours we had to use fire escape which came down in the rear yard which was extremely messy with barrels, discarded micro wave, ash tray on wall by kitchen overflowing with cigarette butts. Very noisy in bedroom at weekend from bar downstairs. Worst place I have stayed ever.

All of it. Also smoke alarm hanging on wall not correctly secured. Isolator switch hummed and the electric power shower only worked on cool. If put to hot it ran for a few seconds then stopped, then came cold water and finally shot out scalding water.

Friendly Great Location Beautiful Cottage

All the little extras, location was good for us, very friendly

The raised bed it was comfortable but to close to the ceiling and has steps, It could be a problem for the older person. Next time we stay we will ask for a different cottage with different bed.

Comfortable clean room with friendly welcome - but a bit over priced.

Bed was super comfortable, and staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and bedding was lovely. Even tho we arrived very late we had a very warm welcome.

No breakfast available. We knew it wasn't included in the price but didn't realise that there wasn't breakfast there, although very lovely cafe across road. For the price the room was very small - just really the size of the bed, and the doors were all bare wood - looked unfinished, and there was a lot of dust and cobwebs on the beams over the bed - although the room itself was very clean.

When booked through booking .con breakfast was included ? Village inn say they have not done breakfast since Covid , had to pay for breakfast elsewhere total of £33.00 , who pays for the breakfast ??!!

Noisy until late, cold room, TV remote broken, check in and out chaotic.

We were well looked after and the evening meal was very nice. E were just surprised that the bathroom was so small

It’s a b&b so don’t expect 4 star. get what you pay for.

hardly any places to park room was rather dusty with cobwebs room toilet stank of stagnant water room stank of BO curtain didn’t go all way across and let loads of light in carpets were very grummy

A basic room but friendly and comfortable

The staff made this property. they were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent too.

creaking floorboards woke us up each day as people started moving about. our room was dusty however it was dark furniture with sun on it. we had no teaspoons or milk when we arrived

Lovely old pub, great staff, comfy pub

Robust and very loud debate by people in the bar that continued after closing time out into the street. Could not sleep and staff did not make an effort to quieten them or move them along to go home.

I paid for a single room and was upgraded to a double, so I had plenty of room. Some nice beer in the Bar. Meals were very filling. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The heating was at times too warm, and stayed on all night, which was unnecessary.

friendly, relaxed, quirky pub where you may get breakfast .. or you may not

nice room, comfy bed, nice garden view lovely pub with good atmosphere evening meal was lovely the staff were friendly, there was a very laid- back atmosphere

dust and cobwebs in bedroom, especially in the light above the bed couldn’t turn the radiators down in bedroom first night we had to ask staff the next day as felt like we were being cooked alive we were told the pub closed at 12 midnight but the music was still going until 12:45 and was very loud in our room as it’s above the jukebox speaker the chef didn’t turn up both mornings for breakfast, first morning we were sent to the cafe over the road (the fox.. breakfast was superb!) and claimed the cost back, 2nd morning there were no staff around and it was self service tea and toast/ cereal only but no lactose free options .. speaking to other guests who had stayed before and reading reviews this happens regularly .. we paid £240 for 2 nights and we were expecting a cooked breakfast as advertised when booked so we were disappointed

The bed was unbelievably comfy. Honestly like sleeping between air and feathers.

I got too drunk and spent all night in hospital and didn't get to sleep more than half an hour in the bed. Wish the hotel would have offered me some kind of discount just out of niceness like.

Very small room. Banging knees on sleigh bed. Very small ensuite. Breakfast brought in from "over the road " barely warm. Fried egg only!! My wife's egg was so broken up it was inedible..

Dissapionting in many respects.

The breakfast was fine.

Dissapionted with the location, was on the main road,not just off, as was stated, Cleaniness was very disappointing, the tea cups in our room ,were not clean, lipstick on etc',there was also foliage, inside the top window in our room and foliage debris bellow,The other family members room, which was called a superior room but,was just a little bigger,There were a lot of hairs in and around the shower, the cold tap in sink, was loose from the sink and leaked,creating a large puddle of water in the bathroom,The family members in the room were elderly and i was very worried about them slipping on the puddle of water, When we returned to our rooms on the Tuesday evening, we both had no water in the bathroom (at least the tap stopped leaking for a time!!),Apparently it was a problem with the boiler, which they managed to sort after around an hour, Also both rooms were cold, Apart from these issues, the establishment was o,k !!!

Breakfast was nice the room was a decent size. Location was good for exploring Northumberland, bakery across the road was delicious. Hotel staff were all friendly and welcoming

The room could have done with a good clean had to ask morning and evening for the heating to be put on to warm the room. It was excessively noisy up to gone 11pm with loud music from the bar, not what you'd expect from a village pub
