Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt ! Natürlich ist es kein Hotel! Es sind viele Gäste dort und viele Familien. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber völlig ausreichend. Die Matratzen erstaunlich bequem, die Bettwäsche für eine Jugendherberge sogar sehr gemütlich und aß Buffet (Frühstück und Abendbrot) sehr lecker.
Es ist alles schon etwas abgenutzt.

The linens were already on the beds when we arrived. Everything was clean. Our double room had a sink and mirror, and lockable closets. Food is included. The other hostel guests are nice and helpful. There is a mix of families, pupils and older guests. The kitchen staff is helpful even though they are busy. There is wireless although only in public areas. You are given a 4-hour coupon to access the wireless network. Make sure you log out after each use, otherwise the 4 hours keep being used up. The location of the hostel is about a 10-minute walk from the center of Hörnum and there is good access to the beach on the western (sunbathing and swimming) and eastern side (walking).
The room was tiny and narrow for two people and had only one window which you could only tilt. It got stuffy inside the room. The mattresses of the bunk bed were not comfortable. We woke up with aches every morning. The room gave way to the terrace where people talked until late (even though there was supposed to be silence after 10 pm). Food choices are limited, there is one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian option in the evening. So if you don't like the meal there is only salad left for you. It is buffet-style and things run out. You have to find out yourself where to get things, cups, etc. but it's a good opportunity to talk to the other hostel guests. The price for the double room was not competitive -- we moved into a studio apartment which was cheaper.
