LOGIS Hôtel & Restaurant - LENSOTEL

The hotel is in a retail park on the edge of Lens. DON'T let that put you off. The site is about 2-3 acres rectangle. two sides are the mainly single storey rooms and facilities. The third is an outdoor , but sheltered, eating and drinking area. The fourth is a bank of forest conifers. The grounds contain a c 25metre swimming pool plus shrubbery and ponds. It is a real oasis. We enjoyed an early evening drink admiring the peaceful gardens. Outside is guest only parking. The retail park has an enormous car park, supermarket and shopping mail. The staff are very helpful, but only some of the receptionists speak English. My schoolboy French just about got the message across. The first night we ate a la carte. A mistake! If you go be sure to pre-order the 28 euro set menu, A small, but very good choice of French cuisine. 3 courses each with 2 options. We did and had excellent meals. Unless you are an expert avoid the cheese option. Not to my English palate. Breakfast is also highly recommended. Plenty of pastries, cereals and even scrambled eggs and fried bacon. The coffee is excellent. Strong and black. If you prefer "au lait" or "creme" just ask. Lens is an interesting town with plenty of Art Nouveau architecture. Lens also has its own Louvre art gallery. A spin off of the Paris parent. I wanted to see the battlefield of Loos (where my grandfather fought). Access to this area was easy using Waze.

I had found and booked the Hotel, via the web. I had specified breakfast as part of the requirements. The price of this was not in the package. A more savvy traveller would have known what to do. I had an embarrassing chat with the reception on arrival. We were also not aware of the 28 euro meal.

J'ai apprécié l'accueil, le professionnalisme et l'empathie du personnel. La chambre est spacieuse, très bien aménagée et très propre. La literie est très confortable

Pour Le petit déjeuner aux matin, il i avait pas d’œuf battu, et pas de bacon, a 9h du matin or que le petit déjeuner s’arrête a 10h, pas d’assiette pour prendre le déjeuner et pas de couteau pour couper le fromage, il faudrait améliorer les cuisiniers et l’organisation qui et mal foutu, sinon le reste était très bien

Good value accommodation. Clean and comfortable within about an hour of the Shuttle. Surprisingly excellent restaurant for dinner.

Decor is very dated, and the breakfast offering was quite basic and canteen like.
