Sebastien, the owner of this extraordinary property, was a warm and welcoming host. The word unique is over used, however with Les Douves it truly applies. Our room, in the base of the chateau’s former tower, was comfortable and filled with original art. We were fascinated each morning with the birds, garden, sculptures, boats. Very peaceful. Thank you, Sebastian, for preserving this part of French history along the Loire.

L'expérience insolite, un château au beau milieu d'un village sur un îlot minuscule entouré de vastes douves, qui conserve la base de son donjon médiéval et quelques vestiges d'une chapelle Renaissance. Le château, classé au titre des Monuments historiques, a reçu la visite de François 1er. Jolis parc et jardin sur une surface de 1 hectare, agrémenté d'oeuvres d'art puisque le château fait aussi office de galerie d'exposition. L'endroit est calme, reposant. Accueil très chaleureux du propriétaire et de son grand chien ravissant, tous deux aux petits soins pour leurs hôtes. Petit-déjeuner savoureux servi à l'extérieur, que l'on prend en regardant les canards barboter dans les douves, un vrai bonheur. Suite propre et spacieuse, très confortable, pourvue d'une terrasse, équipée d'un ventilateur. Literie de bonne qualité

The house look so beautiful, the garden is amazing as well
Paid much and got not so much. Breakfast was just ok. The room feel like Airbnb. The all expiriance is an Airbnb one.
