10 min flat walk into Sitia Harbour for bars and tavernas. Only a small part is on the road, the rest is the paved beach wall. We found it an excellent base for exploring the east of the island: especially the ancient minoan sites of Zakros / Itanos / Palekastro (latter also has beautiful sandy bay for easy swimming once you've had enough archaeology. Vai palm beach is also nearby. Our host Ellie gave us lots of recommendations but we only had 4 days so already planning a return to the area.

We had a wonderful stay! The property is truly beautiful, comfortable, and has been recently renovated with great attention to detail. The sea view is absolutely wonderful and, for us, was a fundamental part of the experience.
Ellie is an exceptional host, incredibly kind, welcoming, helpful, and always available when needed. She made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The apartment is equipped with everything you could possibly need, from coffee and all the essential toiletries like soap, shampoo and conditioner. There was also water waiting for us in the fridge, as well as a lovely welcome gift of Raki!
The stay also included cleaning of the apartment, as well as a change of bed linen and towels.
The location is also perfect. The town of Sitìa is just a 3 minute drive or about a 20 minute walk away, making the property a very convenient and strategic base for exploring the area.
Eastern Crete is very different from the more touristy west. The food is just unbeliavable, truly exceptional, the people are incredibly kind, and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed, without the crowds.
We truly loved our stay and would absolutely recommend this place.

Geräumige Wohnung, schlicht und stilvoll eingerichtet mit hochwertiger Küche (mit allem was man braucht). Die Gastgeberin Ellie ist unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit, wir haben uns sofort sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Weg in die Stadt ist auch zu Fuß (ca. 15 Minuten) kein Problem, nachts ist es sehr ruhig.

The apartment ist directly at a street with much of traffic (cars are fast and loud) - no sleep after 7am anymore.
The Pictures do not really show that so we were not amused when we arrived there. The couple next to us had the same problem.
No breakfast or dinner at the terasse possible.
