Beautiful landscape

We drove in from the Mexico City airport and were a late arrival. Despite that, the desk was staffed and we were able to get in our room. The grounds are very beautiful, as is the set-up for breakfast, which was also excellent. The staff couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. Our room had A/C, which was almost a necessity, in our opinion. The room was very clean and well-maintained, as were the grounds. This is obviously an older hotel, with older fixtures, some of which could use upgrading. But what was there, worked fine for us. The beds were comfortable. There was hot water, although it took a while to arrive. It has a nice bar, but it is only intermittently staffed, and wine is something of a novelty item. There is secure parking, at a small fee. It is short drive, and not too long a walk to the historic district from the hotel
It would be advisable for them to upgrade the decor, especially in terms and providing A/C to all the rooms. We were traveling with friends, who didn't have A/C, as we had booked an upgrade room. The hotel did not have a restaurant for evening meals, and there were only a couple of restaurants within walking distance. Just for note, one was an excellent sushi place. We had a car, so that wasn't a big problem, but it is something to consider.

That there was no water in the room one morning and when we finally got water, there was not hot water!!
